I forget what podcast but some national mega figure really suggested The Beam should go away now that the team is good, some people really hate fun

 

The Beam should last until they win a championship, at which point it should be moved inside the arena pointing at the trophy and never turned off.

that never actually happens. it's always team trades them to another team where they're instantly cut. i have to imagine there's some cap implications regarding a team that has the contract rights of a player waiving them vs. a team who acquires the player doing it within a certain amount of time. the same thing happened with meyers leonard most notably but there have been other cases too. hell, it'll probably happen with miles bridges soon.

No matter how good a team is they'll always lose a random game to a bad team every now and then. The takes if they lose to like the Wizards in the first month would be real fun.
