the feral nature of the cruel summer bridge is a top 3 live experience of my life after waiting all that time for the lightning to clear

 

I loved “Cruel Summer,” and I’m sure it was extra special right after that big delay, but one of my big criticisms of the show is her blowing that song too early. I think there should have been a non-era “all bangers” encore that could have made that one of the 2-3 last songs in the set. (This would also save you from trying to make “Karma” the grand finale, which…nope.)

 

Just switch Lover and Midnights in the eras order, then flip Archer and Cruel Summer. Boom.

 

I don't know that the Lover set was strong enough to be that kind of load-bearing point in the show, either. Maybe if she had picked different songs from that record. Incorporating "Paper Rings," "Cornelia Street," and "Death By a Thousand Cuts" would have made it feel a little more climactic.

I wouldn't have minded starting with Midnights, though getting those songs in the dark made them feel a little more special, I think. But getting 1989, and then the secret songs, and THEN "Anti-Hero" two songs into the Midnights set, it just felt like some of the air got let out of the balloon over the course of the last five songs.

(Honestly, she should have just closed with "Our Song" to incorporate the first album, bring it all full circle, and go out with a huge all-out crowd sing-along.)

 

Yes, yes, yes. "Play it again!" is the perfect ending for the Eras tour. (or Long Live, of course)

 

Don't get me started again on the disrespect paid to Speak Now on this tour.

 

I’m not really a huge fan, nor do I listen to her that often, but my friend’s wife had an extra ticket and knew I loved Phoebe Bridgers and Gracie Abrams, so I went the 2nd night in Philly for the experience. So my opinion isn’t really worth much here, but the Karma finale was my favorite part of the set personally. Totally get why actual fans probably would’ve preferred something else though. Just wanted to throw my thoughts in as a barely casual fan

 

If I don’t get Long Live in Hamburg, blondie and I will have words.

Did get Mine and Haunted as secret songs, but still. Done so dirty.

 

I love the song Karma. My fiance has asked what it means and I think I just say "fun" every time.
