The Subtitles On eps are pretty good, especially the latest with Griffin and Gillian. I just have never been able to get that much into TFO or HH.

 

TFO was dope for a while and then it kinda seemed like they (or Carl I guess) lost interest

 

I think they all just got really busy and they don’t prepare at all and it’s obvious.

I don’t think I’ve seen a lot of LPOTL talk here but still figured I’d share

 

Yeah, I think I'm one of the few fans on here and don't bring it up much because I understand they're not for everyone and their beginning edgelord days are borderline problematic if not outright. Unfortunately this wasn't super surprising, he has obviously been a huge alcoholic for years. I'm disappointed that, while he's no long associated with the show, Marcus and Henry haven't really even addressed the accusations.

 

My brother and sister in law are fans, going to send it to them.

 

They handled it well from what I saw

 

I’ve vaguely followed it on Reddit and they have sort of addressed his absence in some episode intros (and have now obviously removed him entirely from LPN I guess? Just saw the Instagram post about it today, not caught up on the podcast) but yeah they haven’t outright said “this is why Ben is not here”

 

And of course, they are a huge podcast network and I bet there’s a lot of legal stuff happening behind the scenes

 

Maybe I missed it but one week they said he'd be back after getting help for his mental and physical health, then the next week they said he'd no longer be on the show, but didn't offer up anything beyond that.

 

Yeah that sounds right

 

And I think one episode Marcus started the show by outright telling listeners to stop harassing the victim

 

They made an instagram post about that. Seemed kinda half-hearted and again gave no details or recognition of any of the victims.

 

I haven't seen anything bad per se, just not anything directly addressing the accusations, which I guess maybe that's not on them. From the RS article it seems like their working relation with Ben had been winding down and his drinking had to do with it.

 

I dont follow them too closely, just saw an IG post and then a reddit recap so I could be wrong. Basically they cut ties and said believe the survivors

 

As with most fanbases the loudest ones are the worst. I’ve listened pretty regularly for like, 8 or 9 years (except for when they were exclusive to Spotify for awhile) but a lot of those people are nuts

It seems like they assume a lot of their fanbase is clued into because of Reddit so they didn't need to spell everything out in detail.

 

I don't engage with their fanbase, but always got the impression it was kinda toxic.

 

But honestly, we all know he was the worst part of the show so good riddance. Ed is funnier, but also seems like something problematic about him could drop at any second.

 

Haven’t regularly heard anything from Ed but one joke from an episode of Roundtable of Gentlemen from like 2016 has stuck in my head forever
