Why would Purdy need a pass on anything? Has he lost a game yet (where he didn’t get injured)? I don’t see him being talked about as an elite top 5 qb yet but eventually if he keeps this up he’s going to have to be. I feel the opposite of a lot of what’s been said here, I think if he were a 1st round pick he would be being praised way more.

When I’ve been saying pass, I more mean when Tua woke up in the morning and brushed his teeth he had people outside his window asking if he was only able to brush them because he has great weapons. Purdy, I feel, gets significantly less than that.

I feel like most times I hear praise for Purdy, there's always an asterisk because of the team around him.

 

But that’s exactly it. Getting picked higher means higher expectations. It’s expected value theory. If you expect a lot but get a little (even at first), that makes people way more frustrated and reactive, than the mild satisfaction of expecting a little but getting a lot. Potential loss is perceived more hyperbolically than potential gain.

I actually happen to think Purdy might be being propped up by great weapons lol Jimmy G had a lot of success with less than what Purdy has there. Purdy is clearly better than Jimmy G but that’s not saying much

 

Prob the year they went to the Super Bowl where he threw for 4,000 yards, had 27 TDs and 13 INTs and oh yeah, went to the Super Bowl lol
