I shared MY opinion of last nights game and other people took issue. Now we’re acting like it was the other way around

  3. I actually agree with Randall that there's a ganging up that happens quite frequently imo

I would agree with that too. I wouldn't cite today as an example though lol.

and stuff like this being used as a gotcha is bad faith too because for years I have taken accountability for posting a LOT of bad takes about Bortles, Fournette etc. Why would you still use that against me when I’ve already admitted 1000x that was bad

My point of using it is that you argued he was good when he played good, and realized he was bad when you had the complete picture, so idk, maybe let other people get the complete picture before making that determination for themselves lol. If i wanted to bad faith you about Blake Bortles i'd just post the Good Place clips a bunch

There can only be 5. But that also may be how bad he is that I didn't even think of him. Completely unmemorable, either good or bad.

EDIT: And damn, I don't come in here often, but ya'll move fast. I've never seen a thread update so quickly.

Like 5 people posted “come on Randall we don’t have to do this” and I’m literally just sharing my, very legitimate opinion of last nights game dawg. I felt ganged up on despite having a good reason to say what I was saying

  17. I'd rather have Russell and fields right now

  18. This is going to be a long rant. I'm sorry.

Last night was interesting to me. Fields looked awesome. And he deserves the praise for hanging in there through all the bullshit in Chicago. I thought they had a good offseason and after a few rough games to start the season, it's paying off. It's not just Fields that looks better, their OL and WRs do too.

Funny how that works, right? Built talent around your young QB and he'll play well. Shocked.

Meanwhile, the Panthers have an owner who claimed we didn't need elite WRs or weapons because Bryce is a "point guard" and can make the guys we throw out there look good. It's such a dumbass thing to say. And we should've seen it as a red flag when he said it.

We traded away our only two good offensive playmakers. Then drafted an undersized QB. Then we had a couple starters on the OL injured and we don't have a single backup worth playing. Leaving us with an undersized QB, no quality weapons, and an OL that has given up the most QB pressures in the league. What a great strategy. Tepper saw how well it worked for the Bears and decided to replicate it. Beautiful stuff.

Of course, having a better supporting cast doesn't automatically mean success for a QB. But operating the way the Panthers have, you make it much more difficult for that success. Running for your life and rarely having someone open can stunt any QB's development. They will stop trusting their OL and their WRs. And you can already see it with Bryce. He feels pressure even when it isn't there and it creates unnecessary chaos (although most of the time it is chaos).

I used to be a big believer in "QBs makes his receivers better". And I still think that's true. But I also think the game has evolved into a place where WRs matter more than they ever have, as does how an OC/HC scheme for those receivers. Just look around the league. Find me a top QB who has poor weapons (then find one that has poor weapons AND poor OL play).

Allen - was terrible his rookie season. Diggs comes in. Everything changes.
Herbert - walked into a loaded offense.
    Burrow - has two WR1s.
Tua - struggled to start. Hill and Waddle show up. McDaniel shows up. He's an MVP candidate.
Hurts - struggled to start. AJ and Smith show up. Elite OL. He's an MVP candidate.
Mahomes - started his career with Hill, Kelce, Reid.
Dak - elite OL for a lot of his career along with great weapons.

And there are outliers. CJ Stroud is a current outlier. He does not have an impressive supporting cast and he looks great so far. But even in watching his highlights, his OL is playing fine, he's hitting open receivers. It isn't him running for his life every play and his coach calling 50 screens a game. But it's still concerning to see him playing well and Bryce not playing well. And we haven't seen enough sample to determine if it's just CJ > Bryce, or Texans > Panthers.

The thing giving me some hope now is something I learned from baseball. Not all player development is linear. Some guys start out hot. Some guys take time. Some guys need a new environment. There are a lot of variables. But what I do know, it is difficult for a player to develop in the current circumstances Bryce is facing. He clearly has things to improve on, but it is incredibly difficult to improve on those things when your owner thinks you don't need any help and doesn't give you any help.

tl;dr - Panthers are a dumpster fire and Bryce is drowning.

    The rivalry is back on

Russell Wilson is as good as Patrick Mahomes this year, why is he on the bad QBs list?

I guess the case for Bryce is Russell Wilson and Andrew luck, their ol was shit and he was still good but everyone’s different
