The guitar part before the bridge gives some New Found Glory vibes. Does anyone who knows more about guitar have a take? This song rips and I love it.

 

Listened to this song three times and that chorus is drilled in my head. So definitely giving this one a break before I ruin myself on it.

 

I think it was just an octave chord lead playing over the power chords (which is definitely typical of New Found Glory), but I would say it's actually the bouncy half-time drums right there that make it more reminiscent of NFG.

 

The video is a way better version of NFG radiosurgery

Yeah I agree. For whatever reason after TOYPAJ he wanted to be known as a serious artist and not have his band be “the joke” band. It might have taken him 20 years but I’m glad he’s “back”.

I was really surprised to see that the One More Time video had 9M views in Youtube in just a few weeks while EDGING has 16M in a whole year. The song is really hitting hard.

 

Really hope they play this at WWWY. I want to be Oleing in two weeks

 

I haven't done this in years, but on October 19th I look forward to staying up past midnight, killing a bottle of wine, listening to this album and giving a play by play in this thread.

Can't decide if I want to watch Monsters of California tomorrow, or wait and use it as my "pre-show" on the 19th.

Travis's parts are pretty deliberately straightforward punk beats. I hope we get an interview with just him deep-diving on his parts and production choices on this album. Recently, he tweeted (or Xed?) about the MTYK double bass part. He was spotted at Toby's the other day. Fingers crossed we get an OLOC podcast around album release time.

 

Edging hit #61 last October but was only in the Hot 100 for one week. Let's see what the staying power of One More Time is!
