I don't listen to blink for their lyrics. The Ole's are super fun and catchy. I was happy they weren't like the yodels Tom does in AvA.

 

I'm glad the "olés" work after the frankensteined and overdone mess with some California vocalizings ("No Future" and "Parking Lot" being the worst offenders). Not only that, they make total sense within the song's theme as proper words.

Overall, it's a strong song and it would still be a strong song if it was from Enema or TOYPAJ, which isn't easy... The intro riff and Mark and Tom vocals overlapping in the "verses-pre-chorus" transition pump me up.

"More Than You Know" remains the best song and I'd prefer a full album in that vein: a proper follow-up to Neighborhoods and Dogs Eating Dogs (or Nine). However, it's nice to have one classic blink tune that doesn't feel forced. It should have been the 1st single.

Listening to all 4 OMT songs in a row and thinking about them in the context of an album has got me even more excited for the 20th. Can't believe we're getting blink at the top of their game in 2023.... such a fucking awesome time to be a fan.

Still can't believe they put Edging on this album, song is awful but the rest of these are really strong

 

There are actually good lyrics on the album. This was never meant to be one of those songs.

 

So far my only complaint about any of these new songs is the synth/noise in the MTYK verses being a little too overbearing/loud/unnecessary.

 

Song is fun as hell. The olès work just fine for me.

 

Super fun song, nothing to complain about.

a lot of chatter about the "concerns" over the masturbation line is funny to me because its basically the same reaction our parents had to us listening to Blink in the 90's except its coming from 25-35yos... that's actually wild. Blink punk af.

Crazy... this is the first Blink song since Untitled where it's made me want to pick up my guitar and figure out how to play it... I feel like I'm in high school again.

 

I would have to listen again because I honestly couldn't describe it. Never thought it was close to overbearing

 

overbearing is maybe the wrong word. I think more than anything I just wish it wasn't there? haha

 

Blink has always been an uneven band lyrically. And there's always been instances where their age didn't quite line-up with the content of the songs or who they were as people when the songs were written.

They can turn a good phrase and occasionally really hit a homerun but for the most part... Who was ever turning to this band for like, fine poetry and metaphor?

 

Is this hitting you in Atmos, or on all versions?

 

OLÉ are fucking amazing.

my favorite s song out of all of them so far!
