While I like California I do agree I start to get burnt out after Left Alone but I don’t feel that way about Nine probably because the back half is so strong.

I have no idea how someone could think all the songs on NINE sound similar. It's just like aggressively false.

 

Back half of Nine is better than the first half, and first half of California is better than the back half

 

except the back half has left alone and san diego!

 

Yeah I'd say the halves are pretty equal

 

Nine just gets better as it goes for sure though

Y’all I think we’re just gonna have to agree to disagree on the Skiba albums. I’m not much of a fan, but it’s awesome if you dig them. The good news is I’ve like all the new singles better than most of the stuff from either of those, so, still hyped.

 

The Ramones are the greatest rock and roll band that ever existed.

 

The songwriting on California and Nine are both good. The main problem is that Mark and Tom's voices compliment each other really well (low register vs. high register). Skiba's got a good voice, no shade there. It's weird, Tom has a bad voice but also that's what gives Blink it's charm?
Also Tom is more creative with his guitar playing. Already see it with that octave playing in MTYK and that lick they keep teasing for Dance With Me. Skiba just loved power chords (and that recycled Adam's Song riff).

If this new album is a continuation of Nine, but with Tom's riffs sprinkled in, I'm in.

 

But it's weird because Skiba has a bunch of cool riffs in Trio stuff. None of them were able to make it into blink for whatever reason.

 

Never heard a Ramones song. Couldn't pick them out of a lineup admittedly.

What do people think of California Deluxe? Good Old Days and Don’t Mean Anything are some of my favorite Mark songs.
