Big year for Anberlin next year I assume. New EP/LP + Tour

 

lol, meant i can't. i love these EPs, but i definitely want a longer body of work at least once (plus they originally indicated they'd combine the EPs with a few extra songs to comprise LP8?)

 

I really hope they just make a new album and leave the EP’s as they are. Love both of them and they really stand on their own. I really just want a new, full length cohesive album from them.

But I mean I’ll take what I can get.

 

Like a normal person, I usually separate my LPs and EPs for EOTY but I may buck that trend this time. Convinced deserves to be on the big list.

I understand that everyone's doing what they gotta do but you definitely won't catch me seeing those shows. All I know about Matty is his terrible feature on the Yellowcard song

Agree completely. He is an integral part of their live show. I mean I’m glad they’re still going and gonna record with him. But yeah not interested in an Anberlin show w/o Stephen.

 

barely spun MMF in my life, but based on what i heard of his godawful first solo album, this seems correct

 

While I’d entertain seeing them with Mullins, I am even more glad I caught all 3 of their Orlando shows earlier this year and one in St. Pete last summer.

 

The show likely will be a mix of nostalgia fans who have no idea who the singer is anyway, longtime fans giving it a chance and Matty fans wanting to see him... I could see it being somewhat successful, at least a first tour.

And to be fair, of the replacement was a singer I like, I would probably go out of curiosity

As a Canadian fan who knows their stance on returning to Canada, and with Stephen continuing to be involved in writing and recording:



In all seriousness though, surprised they're still going full-time on the touring at this point in their career (stoked for them though if they're enjoying it obviously). They seem like the kind of band that would transition nicely into a residency-era of their touring life, and that might work better for Stephen anyways.

 

This is baseless speculation but that totally sounds like Stephen's wife is pissed about him being gone touring and parenting duties. lol

What an odd way to announce it though.

idk who matty is and i probably won’t be seeing them on their tour next year. but. stephen has always been the worst part of anberlin’s live show for me. it just seems like he can’t his voice get anywhere near what he achieves in studio. the rest of the band always rips tho.
