Nine is really good tho!

 

Amazing show! They played “More Than You Know” and it sounded amazing. EDGING fits perfectly in the setlist and was really surprised to see the crowd go wild with Bored to Death, just like with any of the older hits. Sound was kinda crap but I didn’t really cared.

 

Lol was right behind this guy.

A few friends of mine don't get my love for blink-182, thinking their music is mediocre and generally in-line with most other pop-punk stuff of the 90's/2000's, which I understand if you never really got into the scene, or are just a casual listener of music/like what's on the radio, etc.

For me what I connected with early on aside from the songs was the Mark & Tom friendship, and I think that's a large part of what makes this band and obviously this reunion really special outside of their songs. When I explain it's more than just the music, and the band members are part of why I love this band people on the outside don't really get it.

 

I mean, they already did 7-8 times before they even made Nine, so it's not that hard to do.

 

One More Nine

 

I missed all the hot takes earlier so I'm gonna drop mine now:

Neighborhoods is good. California is mid. Nine is monotonous and forgettable. Louder Now is the best TBS album. I'm scared Jason likes 152 because that probably means I won't, especially since I only really dug S'Old out of the new singles.

 

I mean I get the joke here, but NINE's great so I'd take another.

Just for kicks I'm gonna listen to Nine for the first time since 2018 tomorrow during my commute to see if my thoughts have changed. You all have convinced me.

 

Does anyone know why Monsters Of California isn't available outside the US?

 

Because they don’t want to design all new promo material to say “Monsters of the US state California (that’s the one on the far left side of the country that’s right up against Nevada, where Las Vegas is.)”

 

Another thing regarding the Blink show and something that gets brought up time and time again.

I like the 90 min set. With the time to get in and the opening band it’s like 3 hours standing and the amount of doings they fit in that time is great.

It was a much more enjoyable show than when I saw Green Day and they prolonged every song with the “hey-ohs” and the chants. I just want to hear the songs and jump around.

The 152 singles sound nothing like Blink so why can’t we like one but not the other? Seems like Jason is implying the two albums sound similar?
