The more I have read or heard Brian talk about this record, the more I am excited for it. He made a comparison recently that their production choices was them doing In Utero and wanting to challenge their listeners and not simply hand them a retread album. Combining that with Brian's songwriting naturally changing over time, and it makes a lot of sense that as someone who has been with the band for a while, I will have some adjusting to do. I am excited to hear the whole thing.

There is definitely some Pearl Jam in this album’s DNA.

It is absolutely a better album than Get Hurt, imo.

Brian’s vocal melodies remind me of my fathers house on Nebraska. Chills. I adore this song and I adore Brian and this band.

Autumn reminds me a lot of that EP they put out for Record Store Day. Was that Gaslight or Brian?

    House of Protect Ron.

Autumn is the single I have been waiting for as a Gaslight comeback track. That chorus is instantly iconic. Excited to hit play on this album on release day.

They actually haven’t played it live yet, to my knowledge. They stopped one show mid-set and played the album version of the song and it leaked (with Brian’s permission) online.

"autumn" is... wow. great title, I'm not sure they've made a song Iso perfectly suited to this season before.

I do feel like having heard 4 of the songs it's hanging together much better than hearing 2. I love this band.

Agreed. When you listen collectively it sounds much more cohesive (and the production works better in context).

History Books is such an ear worm. It's been in my head since it was released.

None of the choruses have been stuck in my head as yet. Not that they are lacking, I think it's partially because Brian stays in his lower register.
Surely he still has the ability to belt out a chorus? Etta James was not that long ago.

he did belty choruses on local honey as well. pretty much every album he’s ever released. no reason to assume there won’t be a few of those here.
