Even the amps that Yellowcard played that were close to 20k sold really really well. Still surprised how well the turnout for that tour was.

I still think a yellowcard/ all american rejects tour even in sheds would do alright. Get two other bands really connected to the scene like get up kids and the starting line were and you would probably at least have most of the venues full each night

    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

I think Yellowcard had an advantage seeing as they were coming back from a 6 year hiatus during a peak of pop punk/emo nostalgia. The issue with the AAR tour is that, while it’s technically their first big tour in a while, they’ve still just kind of been around, so there’s probably less hype for them. The same can be said for the rest of the lineup of the tour. NFG tours all the time, MCS has been playing more regularly again and TGUK also tour often too. Even though the lineup is stacked, it might not be enough to bring people in.

Each band is kind of varied enough to where a fan of each can just say “eh, I’ll see them next time around.” I know NFG specifically has a devoted fanbase, but are they willing to pay whatever money it is just to see them play a 9 song set of hits?

Genuine question...what IS the NFG fanbase at this point? They tour so consistently that it seems they are playing smaller venues and/or struggling to fill the ones they're used to filling. Are there some "Makes Me Sick is the best NFG album" truthers out there or is everyone just showing up to hear songs from 2004 and before?

I mean I legit thought Resurrection was one of their best albums. Makes Me Sick…not so much. Although I feel like that was ok considering what they were going through.

At least for florida shows I was really hyped for the all american rejects tour. AAR and new found glory play here all the time. But the starting line haven't done a show here in 11 years so that felt like the big draw for me. And then the get up kids play here every 3 or 4 years. So I was definitely more hyped on the opening bands

Saw Senses Fail on Thursday in Denver. Never heard of Holding Absence and Thousand Below, but they both killed it.

Also hearing LINAWR front to back was amazing. Blackout. So many good tracks on that album.

The venue choices for the rejects nfg tour was stupid. Im sorry, no other word to describe it. Why are we doing large amphitheaters for pop punk bands? Pop punk bands whose heyday is a long time ago.

Do a mid level/high level ga venue tour and I bet this does well

Like in nj...stone pony summerstage.... penns landing in philly...etc

OKC's date for it still has stupid expensive tickets.

The Dallas date just popped up on my free tickets hookup site, hoping they show up for the OKC date.

I’m not the biggest U2 fan, but I saw them with my parents a few years ago. Memorable concert, my first stadium show. I’m in Vegas for work this week, I bought a ticket to the Thursday show. Also seeing Nothing but Thieves & Gaslight Anthem this week too. Will report back on the sphere.

Speaking of the Joji tour, I genuinely have no clue how this tour is still happening. Most of the arenas still have thousands of tickets left.

If you take one look at the Joji subreddit, the setlist has stayed the same since his last tour, and he pretty much has the same openers as his last tour. He has a 20 minute section of the show where he just brings a bunch of DJ's on stage to play travis scott and meme songs and has joke segments scattered throughout the set. I saw Joji play Terminal 5 a couple years ago and was front row for his set at gov ball and I have to say as a fan of Joji he really needs to work on stage presence and production for his shows. I'm really curious as to what these record labels were thinking booking him to play arenas after Glimpse Of Us blew up, as it clearly didn't work. I really have 0 clue how this tour is even still happening.

AAR/NFG sold 15k+ at PNC on a Tuesday. Pop pink in the Northeast is still alive.

  20. Might do Bleachers and Gaslight this year. Would have been incredible if they were together.

Is Lovejoy somehow bigger than I realize? Seems odd to put them on the same level as Bleachers and YTG yet alone Black Keys.

Also is there rumored new Black Keys music coming? They're also headlining that Audacy beach festival in FL

I didn’t realize Young The Giant could headline over The Gaslight Anthem. If you had asked me a day ago I would have said those bands were textbook examples of “overinflated streams but no strong fan base” & “strong fan base but relatively few listeners”

Hives/Amyl And The Sniffers night at Citi Field is definitely more appealing to me

Anecdotal but I went to go see Lovelytheband and Beach Weather in June. This couple started talking to me and the guy was raving about Beach Weather. When I asked the couple what their ultimate band was, they both said without hesitation Young The Giant. Maybe there are a ton of these people in the shadows and we just don't realize?
