  1. Haha. That song is boring and bad. I can pick out lyrics, obvi. I sing along to songs, but not always the correct lyrics haha. I just don’t put all my stock into lyrics. If a boring song has amazing lyrics, it’s still a boring song and I won’t come back to it. If a song is otherwise amazing but has meh lyrics, I still think it’s an amazing song.

I also don’t pay much attention to lyrics anymore. That’s more to do with how I consume music as it’s usually while working or doing other things as opposed to in my HS bedroom pouring over lyric websites and sheets (and there was not the same amount of internet to engage with then). As long as they are not actively terrible, I’m usually good with them.

Yet, FOAM does have actively terrible lyrics.

    Can’t argue that point

FOAM's lyrics are no better or worse than the rest of Green Day's discography. You can interpret that however you want.

    Thank you haha

And I agree, sometimes I will have music on while working or what have you and I’m not really paying attention to the lyrics in the moment as it’s just background. But I’d never listen to new music that way. I give my full attention to new stuff.

    This is objectively false.

The lyrics on FOAM are fine-good mostly.

I am in limbo mid move, just waiting for things to happen. I literally have nothing else to do the next few weeks.

I say, as if I wouldn’t be doing this anyway.

Hahaha I'm just poking fun. I'm also on here smacking my face at the folks who think "I was a teenage teenager" is a good lyric.

  15. Bookmarking for when you talk about Blink's lyrics like they're somehow worse than:

    Huh-uh, come on, honey
    Huh-uh, count your money
    Huh-uh, what's so funny?
There's a riot living inside of us

    I'm not a soldier
This ain't no new world order
    My path, don't follow
    My name is "Nobody"
    My pride is my pornography
    Kool-Aid's my motto, "Oh yeah!"

Well, I'm a nervous wreck, enough to make you sick
    Take the money and crawl
Oh yeah, it's just my luck, but I don't give a fuck
    Take the money and crawl

I never said that was a good lyric! I just said it was better than some of those new blonk songs

Those lyrics are fine? Much better than “we were having sex all night” or whatever.

I've interpreted that lyric and song about being in your mid-20s or older and still acting like a dumb teenager, and I think from that perspective it's fine.

The only actively terrible lyrics on FOAM, I think, are in "Stab You In the Heart".

okay, to be fair if I had seen those lyrics before hearing the song I wouldn’t have liked them. I know it’s unpopular, but I think they do work in the song because it’s meant to be dumb caveman sex song. Maybe I will feel similarly about the new blink sex songs! We will see!

  22. I think you've already made your mind up on this one and even if it's your favorite album of the year you won't admit it to keep the bit going. Cause, if you like that song and those lyrics, you can't say shit about anything on the new Blink album with a straight face. I'm sorry, it's impossible.

Same here! I'm turning 40 in a few months and most of my friends have long given up on listening to music, let alone new music, let alone having interesting takes on it all so I'm always happy to argue it would with the good people here.
