A parody of "What's My Age Again?"? Ugh... I really wish they let go of their past. Next album (beginning with its sound) cycle would be a good time for that.

Not a coincidence that the throwback songs on both Neighborhoods and California are among the weakest of those records.

That looks fun. Though they basically did the "we're doing old videos with different people" thing with man overboard.

I'm just happy they're at least attempting a funny video.

    Most Dope Supporter

They're basically inviting people to be nostalgic about Tom with this video so that's a pretty interesting premise

    The Forgotten Son Supporter

I would argue the opposite. They are inviting people to be nostalgic about the band without Tom. You can still love all of blink's music without Tom.

I mean this is based in one photo, so I could be wrong. But I highly doubt they want fans to think about Tom.

    I am a haunted house. I'm superstitious.

Wonder if they're making a parody of WMAA only, or if it'll be like in 'Man Overboard' where they re-created three videos. Now that I think about it, it'll be the second time they use the idea of making a parody of themselves.

  8. I'll say that I'm really down for a "funny" music video from them again, but an original concept would be nice.

  9. For my fellow Trio nuts in this thread, Dan posted this message. I mean we all knew Trio wasn't done but it still makes me feel better reading this.

    Hey friends, Dan here...

So, check this out... I'm on tour with The Emergency Room, tonight is the 1st show, in Nashville, TN. One of the upcoming shows had us billed as "Ex-Alkaline Trio", this was an error that's been corrected.

So, just to clear this up, Alkaline Trio is still a band, and I'm still the bass player... there's no Ex anything going on. Sorry about any confusion.

But all of this has me thinking... since Derek Grant IS out here doing his thing on the drums, as well as playing a solo set, maybe we'll throw a "Dan Song" into the set?

Thanks everybody... Can't wait to get busy on new Trio tunes and tours!!!

I find it hard to get upset about a music video being made in 2016.

Being as old as I am and growing up in the dead prime of MTV, I still have residual excitement remembering how much I looked forward to new music videos. So disappointment when a video sucks is almost about the same. Haha. Now that I think about it Blink was on MTV a shit ton. Way more than any other band I can remember actually.

I hear you. I grew up during blink's huge run too and remember fondly recording on VHS their "Making the Music Video" specials and taping TRL when those videos premiered or they were doing a live performance on MTV or live night shows. Blink had the best, funniest videos. It was great back then. I think I still have a VHS video of just blink stuff taped off of TV and also two blink concerts on video one from the Mark, Tom and Travis show tour and another one from the Pop Disaster Tour that I bought on eBay in 2002 somewhere in my attic.

FUCKIN SAVAGES IN THAT FUCKIN BOX Prestigious

Music videos definitely aren't the same to me now, when growing up it was a big deal to get one on tv. Or ya know, see one on tv at all lol. MTV was fun when blink was on it all the time. Still care about music videos though and I'm down for a fun blink video whatever it is.

Now I Know This World Isn’t Spinning Just For Me Prestigious

I still watch a music video when it drops, but they aren't near as hugs to me as when I was mid high school or anything. They're cool but I can take it or leave it ya know?

  15. I used to rotate through VH1, MTV, and Fuse all day long. I'd have it on when I was doing homework, hanging out with friends, eating dinner, etc just hoping for my favorite bands' videos to pop up, or to discover someone new. The whole music video platform has been kind of ruined by YouTube, in my opinion. It's great for if you know exactly what you're looking for, but other than that, it's just not the same. I care very little about music videos now. If I put one on, it's usually on my computer, and if I am on my computer, I'm mostly surfing the web while it's playing anyway, so I end up just listening to the song because I'm on a different tab.

I think Blink and Sum have awesome music video discographies. There was like 5 year or longer stretch where it seemed liked every video from them were so funny and well done.

    Things have changed.

bringing back the FUCK sign and this video are ... weird moves. Don't love it.

  20. When the video for Fat Lip by Sum 41 premiered that was a huge deal for me, the video for the Taste Of Ink was a huge deal too. Those were the days.

I'm a sucker for nostalgia (especially for blink) gimme joke songs, funny music videos, and a flaming fuck sign.

  24. Taste Of Ink was huge for me too because they were from our town.
