Yeah, I'm not hearing Neighborhoods.

 

Everything about these new songs so far sound better than anything on Neighborhoods. Mixing, production, everything. They’re not even comparable.

 

sounds more like an untitled/nine mixture than anything else imo, but I’m not sure some here want to hear skiba era comparisons lol

This site's quality of life would be improved by 600% if Neighborhoods and New Again had their own threads

Honestly I’ve had When I Was Young stuck in my head all week. Solid Tom song.

 

You seem to think that would stop people from bringing them up, and I promise you that it would not.

 

If anything the Neighborhoods haters bring it up way more than the fans

 

I enjoy DED other than PLG.

When anyone randomly says something positive about albums like Neighborhoods or New Again or Collapsible Lung, etc… I just read it and instantly just translate whatever they said to this.

 

lots of comparisons of past releases. I understand why people are pointing to literally every side project and past blink. I think it has more to do with getting every member crushing right now than anctually feeling like a rehash of something from the past.

imo MTYK sounds like what would have happened if blink found their groove post DED. Production does give some skiba era vibes, but that’s only because travis produces in the same ecosystem as feldy (same co writers, same engineers, travis took off after doing the two feldy albums)

This record is its own thing and i think we can expect plenty of callbacks without it feeling like a retread. The whole push is under the one more time umbrella.

I haven't been on this site for a few days but holy shit, MTYK is amazing. I do like OMT too, especially with the video, but it does scream "song I skip unless I'm listening to the whole album" lol but that's how most acoustic/slow songs are to me

My biggest fear for this album was that it would just be California but with Tom instead of Skiba, and Edging kind of fed into that (even though I love that song), but these just killed all of those fears. This really does feel like we're going into the first "real" Blink album in a very fucking long time

Definitely the most excited I've been for any album for quite a while

The end of one more time video is basically the end of UC2 when what went wrong is playing. Makes me cry lol.

 

There could certainly be a loud ending that has feeling to it, but that cover had none. I'd change nothing about what blink did, it's perfect

 

Half the things I've ever done in my life can be traced right back to hearing Dammit on the radio at 15. OMT is perfect. I can't wait for this album.

I’ve been watching this guy’s videos lately and I respect him a lot, but if the song would have ended like that I would be genuinely pissed
