I'm also in the camp of being surprised that they would release an acoustic-based single to follow up Edging, but given the fact they named the album after the track also, they must feel very strongly about it. It sounded great, so I'm pumped regardless.

Apparently that clip with Tom doing the more my first punk song style vocals is actually from More Than You Know and not Turn this Off. Interested to see how that song plays out now with the other sections

Going through their discography again and the piano in the Stockholm Syndrome Interlude has always reminded me of the police station hall music from Resident Evil 2

 

the marketing roll out for this record seems to be much better than Nine

 

I keep rewatching the trailer and already know this is going to be a top 3 album.

Anyone strategically planning how/where they are going to listen to the single when it drops? Need the perfect atmosphere with no one ruining it hahahah

 

I’m going to listen to the single at work as soon as it drops. I’m having a much harder time deciding what to do about the album. I took the 20th off, but there’s no chance I won’t listen to it on the 19th, so I’m tempted to take that off as well but idk, maybe I’ll just listen at work and then the 20th will be when I spend the day listening through headphones and reading the lyrics. I can just already feel myself getting annoyed at anyone who tries talking to me during that first listen.

 

I think you're right, I was watching these drum snippets and this one sounds like the drum pattern from that snippet you're talking about, followed by the double bass drum beat that sounds like it suits More Than You Know as well. might be the prechorus leading into the chorus?
