I read this quickly and thought this was somehow about the first release of Nightmare of You. I guess it was technically an EP. But it was just a CD. It was pretty cool. It was a CD sleeve and the cover had petals glued on and such. I thought it was so cool. It was before their first album came out.

 

Hype must've had Reddit convince themselves they remixed Edging. Sounds exactly the same to me

I actually just got confirmation:



I think I figured out what happened. Since I had added the song a while ago, Apple Music Match was using my OG uploaded mp3 copy of it to play everywhere. I deleted it from my library and re-added it from the new album version of the album on Apple Music. There are (IMO) slight differences I can hear now.

Spotify still sounds exactly like I've always heard it though.

to me on Apple Music, the album version of EDGING sounds far inferior to the single version. Muddier, less pleasing for sure. Honestly night & day... Am I the only one? Feel like I'm going crazy.

Just downloaded a free trial of Apple Music and this is definitely different than the original.

The guitar track feels higher?, Tom’s background vocals in bridge more pronounced, and just small little touches my ears picked up on

 

I literally just got back from physical therapy for my knees. I guess this is growing up.

 

Spotify variant is sold out. Knew I should've hit the purchase button if I truly wanted it. Still happy about my pink Mark variant purchase last year and debating on Red & Clear variant too, but part of me wants to hold out for other retailer exclusives or purchase from an indie store.

Seeing Descendents the night before the 20th, so if the album drops at midnight it'll be perfect for my hour and a half drive home from the show on the cruisy night freeways.

That, plus seeing the band that Blink were mainly inspired by the night before is a pretty cool thing.
