Honestly, if he needs to have that outlet in order to make good Blink stuff every few years, go for it.

 

Said it a bunch of times already, but I still can't wrap my head around this whole era. It's the first time I've felt like this is the same, real blink from back in the day since probably like 2003.

 

How long before the album release do you think we will see the final art?

What's up with artists doing cassette tapes these days? This is now gonna be the third band I buy a cassette tape from (BN and TBS lol) in the last 10 years or so...I get that it's a 'retro' media just like vinyl and CDs are now but seems kinda weird they're making a come back of sorts. Feels like way less people would have a way to even play them compared to vinyl or CDs.

 

i could be wrong but i dont think anyone who buys a cassette has any intention of doing anything with it other than displaying it somewhere as a collectible lol

 

Cheaper than pressing vinyl and there's lots of DIY cassette labels popping up.

Yeah true, pretty much why I'm buying it haha. Just kinda surprised to see it making a come back.

Though the (Cheap, not great sounding) record player I have DOES have a cassette deck built in as well.

 

Yeah that was my first guess, that it's probably really cheap to make, but was curious if there was something else behind the trend

My band sells out of cassettes all the time haha. I have to make new ones pretty regularly to keep up. Yet, we still have a handful of the original pressing of our CDs...

 

That's really interesting. I now desire to know what is driving this haha

 

I would have loved it if bands sold cassettes 10-15 years ago when my car had a cassette player.

 

I just like that you asked why bands are selling cassettes and then follow up with basically saying "I keep buying them!" lol

Okay thoughts on all of this today..

- I wanna see this band many more times before I die, but I’m glad today’s big announcement wasn’t a tour announcement and wasn’t a 21P tour announcement l

- The video rules, and I can’t wait to see the full interview with Zane. Emotional stuff. Do we have a date for that?

- Clips in said video sound very good, especially Anthem Part 3. I’m so stoked

- 17 songs, hell yes

- I’m assuming the different coloured covers for the pre-orders are placeholders? Or maybe not? But if one of them (likely pink) is official, why not just put that on Apple Music when you uploaded the album? Confusing lol
