I really think it was mostly poor timing on Paramount’s part. Ideally, they should have put it in Transformers’ slot.

It’s coming off weeks of pretty much non-stop blockbusters, with two of the biggest movies coming out the week after, taking its premium movie spots.

I assume casuals thought to just save their money and see Barbie or Oppenheimer the following week.

no idea how many casual people use services like A-List or Regal's subscription but I wouldn't be seeing even half of the movies I see in theaters if not for A-List. it's expensive!

How do subs work as far as box office numbers go? They're accurately taken into consideration?

The car chase scene still kills me. Pom stopped dead while Cruise and Atwell do donuts. Amazing.

Looking at Pom’s Instagram, I’ll be incredibly disappointed if there’s not some practical and beautifully choreographed skydiving set piece with multiple actors in Part 2

Just started watching the original Mission Impossible TV show from the 60’s - it’s great, haha. Same vibe and concept as the movies. Just fun spycraft

Its a shame this 'flopped' as it was super enojoyable and it was a great start to closing the franchises overall arc. Im really not sure why people didnt turn out for this one.

Its one of a few examples lately tho of escalating budgets that may push us back to a lot of cheap entry level films trying to find an audience for the next franchise.

That makes so much more sense why cruise was yelling at everyone about Covid protocols on set - needed to show the severity of the virus

Basically Paramount filed an insurance claim since Covid delayed production of the movie. The insurance company gave them a minuscule amount because they said they could’ve stayed in production regardless of Covid. Paramount sued the parent of the insurance company saying that was bullshit and they ended up winning the full entitled amount. The insurance payout made the movie more profitable since releasing it so close to Barbenheimer screwed the movie
