Please stop spreading ruzzian narratives. *Rise* of Ukrainian Nationalists? Let's see... Here's how Ukraine voted in 2014. And it's without (sure thing) Crimea and Donbass. The top three: Poroshenko (at the time centrist), Tymoshenko (Volodia Putin's secret best friend, who made the infamous gas deal w. ruzzia in 2009), Lyashko (clown figure, populist, created by pro-ruzzian forces long time ago). And then right to the bottom, we have THE ONLY right-wing reps. And what do we see? We see Svoboda (right-wing) and Right Sector (ultra-right wing) with 1.16% and 0.7%, respectively. WOW! These nationalists were taken over, weren't they?

The guy from the Ukrainian Communist Party (100% pro-ruzzian muppets in this case, unfortunately) got more votes. Rabinovych got more votes.

Once again. Kinda-Trump guy from Svoboda got 1.16%, and kinda-Shapiro guy got 0.7%.

Once again, for the love of G-d, please stop spreading bs created by Surkov.

Ruzzian patriots did think it through. Especially one of them... his name is fascist scum volodia putin.

So we have a country, which leader is an open fan-boy of Ivan Ilyin, a well-know russian fascist who worked with Goebbels and sing serenades for Hitler and Mussolini.

Putin transferred remains of Ilyin to Russia.

Quoted him EIGHT times in his public speeches.

    Opened a monument for Ilyin.

Added questions about Ilyin to school exams.

This monster laughs in our faces, and spits in them.

He IS a fascist, it's not an exaggeration. He literally is.

And he plays dirty, unlike Hitler. putin blames the other country for his own sins. Hitler was a maniac, but he was honest: YES, we are uber-nation, and we gonna kill y'all. putin? He's the other way around: NO, we do not consider ourselves an ubernation (hehehe), we are NOT attacking Ukraine (hehehehehehe), we LOVE Ukraine (heheheheehehe), we LIBERATE them, they're all nazis!

At the same time, the CEO of Roscosmos was an open nazi.

At the same time, Russia hold "Russian marches" events up to 2022. This is a country-wide ultra-right wing events: boys are marching with torches, calling to kill either people of Georgia, or Latvia, or Ukraine, or Uzbekistan.

At the same time, LGBTQI+ people are OPRESSED and being KILLED in ruzzia. There are fucking LAWS to assure that!

At the same time, it is a proofed thing that right-wing extremist are sponsored by ruzzia to create a specific image. For example, that douchebag from "Right Sector". Where the FUCK is he now? On a frontline? or maybe fighting info-war? No. The guy is fucking chilling somewhere in Europe or maybe even ruzzia. Stupid muppet is not needed after 2014-2015, where he was responsible for spitting bs like "Ukraine is gonna teach Europe traditional values", just for western douches who then will react with "OH NO UKRAINE IS HITLER SWASTIKA!!!!1111"

And you tell me Crimea wanted to run away from "nationalists (read nazis) in Ukraine"? Where? to fucking ruzzia?

    Yikes.

This is a psycho narcissism with gaslighting and torturing techniques. Applied to a WHOLE country.

How should I, as a jew, react to the nazi accusations addressed to my country? And these accusations... based on what? Some runa tattoos on some mates from Azov? Well, in this case Matt Skiba could join Azov, couldn't he?

My G-d, I bet my life there are FAR MORE ultra-right people in the US, in percentage terms. Should I accuse the American people of being nazis then? Sure thing, no.

If stopping any further countries from joining NATO was one of Putin's main motivations for invading Ukraine then it was a strategic miscalculation at best and a royal fuckup at worst. Finland already joined, Sweden is joining, and he has guaranteed that Ukraine will join in the near future as well.

sorry got a tough time believing NATO has nothing to do with the cause of the war and Putin just fears liberal democracy.

My honest opinion is that both sides overplay the degree to which NATO factors/factored into his decision making at all, each for their own reasons obviously. I think good old fashioned geography and the security concerns that go along with it factor much more into his thinking and planning, just for one thing.

i think Russia saw the choices as NATO now/sooner or NATO later and rolled the dice.

True, they probably shouldn’t have invaded Ukraine and gave NATO a golden opportunity to weaken them with very little effort

The only thing I would say after reading the article linked here is that I don't think 'The West' has a unified strategy at all in regards to Ukraine or Russia right now, to be completely honest, so I don't think it's necessarily accurate to say that Ukraine and The West's interests briefly aligned and have now parted ways. I think it's more accurate to say that there are a broad range of interests in The West that vary wildly in regards to both Ukraine and Russia, with those things seriously ebbing and flowing over time. Poland for example strikes me as having a much more vested interest in pushing Russia completely out of Ukraine and restoring Ukraine's legal borders than say The United States or even France. And that's looking at things where they stand, I'm not even factoring in anything like donald trump or one of the value brand trumps being elected in America in 2024.
