As huge as that song is, and with the leaked track list, your hope is misplaced

Would be crazy if it wasn’t on the album. Commercially and artistically. And I don’t even like it!

I hope it's true. That time is when Nicole Alvarez's show starts, and Blink has done several interviews with her before so that would make sense. Hopefully there is an announcement today.

With how successful of single “EDGING” has been, they would be fools to not include it on the album. People will get the album just based off of that single alone.

It's gonna mildly bum me out if they had that 9/5 date up just for a clip that they weren't gonna release for another 9 days lol

They're committing to this edging theme WAY too hard

I absolutely love this slow rollout of 1 song a year. Gonna be ripping the shit out of this album in 2036.

Forget your emo concept albums. This shit is a high concept album. Release a song called Edging and then make the rollout last 14 years.

  15. Assuming the album is out in October, I'm actually stoked we have only had 1 song on repeat over the last year, rather than 5 or more scattered throughout the year. The album's going be 95% brand new. Even if we get another song or two before the release date, they'll probably still be fresh enough in a month.

Yeah it kills some of the excitement for me when an upcoming album has 5 singles out already for a long period of time during the rollout. The most exciting releases always have essentially nothing out until the day the album drops.

I know many artists are smaller and don't have the clout to do that sort of thing and need to put out more before hand to build hype. However, blink seems to be in a place where they can do that right now like some of the biggest artists around right now - where the new album is essentially all new to the public on day one

I don't think I've listened to Edging in like 8 months so it'll be new to me again lol

I love it so much that I'm not even going to listen to the album for at least three months after it drops, just so I can keep that anticipation going.

This. Non album singles are the bane of my existence. If it doesn't have a home somewhere, it's dead to me.

I'll top that by never listening to the album at all so i'll always have the hypothetical new tom record as something to keep me going every day

I hate how most albums get rolled out these days. I think I've legitimately ruined some listening experiences by overplaying singles (or unwittingly playing the hell out of what I thought was an EP and then the whole thing winds up being on an album 6 months later). I usually try to avoid listening to any pre-release singles as a result and also kind of forget when albums are even coming out anymore.

Hopefully that’s a good thing and not a strategy to avoid slow downs on preorders with a lack of interest for the new songs

  23. I like how Olivia Rodrigo did it with her new album.

Album announced in June, released the first single.
    Second single released in August.
    Album out tomorrow.

I'm all about fast turnarounds like that.

Yeah I also prefer that rollout. However, I think bigger artists have the flexibility in their pocket which they don't need to pre-release a bunch of tracks like a smaller artist might need to.

I'm not an expert in rollouts, labels, music marketing, etc. but I'd have to think Olivia Rodrigo only releasing 2 or Taylor Swift releasing 0 has no effect on their album success. Whereas a band like Spanish Love Songs might need those 4 pre-released tracks to give 4 different opportunities to gain traction and new fans during the rollout.
