    Things have changed.

At least Midtown realized their headlining efforts were best contained to like, one area.

This emo nostalgia bubble is going to pop eventually. Those were way too big of rooms for HA. At least the AFS/TEN tour is going to smaller clubs even if I think it’s still going to mostly tank.

The HA tour was way too ambitious from the getgo and should’ve just started off with the current venues. It’s their first tour in 15 years, sure, but they really didn’t have much of a big or influential impact during their heyday to warrant it. Plus, promotion really seemed limited and it doesn’t seem like there’s anything else planned in terms of new music either. I think the only people that’d really be interested in that tour are maybe a handful of Glassjaw nerds

  5. I remember "Graduation Day" getting a lot of play on VH1, but yeah, they've had basically no lasting influence. I'm glad they're doing Riot Fest because as much as I want to hear those singles live, there's no way I'd go to a headliner just to see them.

HA got the main stage main support slot for Turnstile at Furnace Fest over Thursday (WATT) and original Saosin and it's like... are we sure about that?

I mean I could see that since it’s a festival and should have been a rare appearance. That’s really the only way HA has any sort of draw. Doing a full tour diminishes the diminishes that kind of draw though so it’s definitely puzzling to see them doing more than a few shows. They should have just played a few big markets and some festivals. I bet they can’t even pull 500-600 people in Portland lol

I'll probably be watching Gorilla Biscuits anyway, but like... did we learn nothing from Midtown's nearly empty stage last year?

Yeah, I'm splitting Trash Talk and Gorilla Biscuits during that slot.

Also, speaking of Head Automatica, everyone enjoy this tweet I made last week:

Speaking of reunions and anniversary tours...is there any possibility we get The Format to come and play some shows to celebrate 20 years of Interventions and Lullabies?

Isn't this like a 150-200 person venue? I don't think it'll be that much overlap due to the small size.

  19. I'm not optimistic that The Format will ever play again after having to move the reunion shows so many times and then ultimately just cancel them. But if they do I'll be there (and by there, I probably mean stuck in the AXS waiting room unable to get tickets, just like last time).
