No. blink fans love Tom and always have. It sold worse than every record before it becuase it isn’t very good. It also was very clearly made during a time when the band wasn’t doing all that well internally. It’s a bad album.

It's a good album actually, I quite enjoy it despite its flaws. Pretty sure they played GOTDF on this tour. I wouldn't count that as the band ignoring it. What is this bs narrative? Justice for Neighborhoods

Hot take that will probably be blasphemy:

Neighborhoods, while disjointed, feels less forced to me than California.

Both have songs I fucking love, so that's not a dig at either album. Just my feeling, probably wrong as it is.

I’m listening to Nine today. I think Neighborhoods to DED to California to Nine, each release got better, so I’m pretty stoked to hear what they did on the new album.

Mmmhmmm I mean it's 12 years later. Not sure I'd expect them to really go ham about the record or that I'd count them as ignoring (the majority) of it. Nine is much younger and is completely ignored in the setlist. Doesn't mean it's not a good album.

Neighborhoods gets so much unnecessary hate. Album is super fun. It's like a blink album for the fall.

I don't really give a fuck about the inner band turmoil or Tom Delonge in general, Neighborhoods has good songs on it. That's all that's important to me. While I'm at it, California and Nine have good songs as well. I just enjoy music.

Is Travis okay and is it Tuesday yet?

I think Neighborhoods sold poorly not because of the quality of the record, but because pop punk / emo adjacent at the time wasn't as huge as it was in the 2000s (or now for that matter). Danger Days had come out shortly before that too and didn't do as well either. People wanted "four on the floor" dance music in the mainstream. Blink fans bought it and ate it up, but it didn't sell well in mainstream culture. And maybe the album being delayed into 2011 when fans were hoping for it in 2009 could have been a factor as well, but Idk. Just guessing. Still a great album with some spotty moments.

Lol Tom may not have listened to the masters or whatever, but he wrote the majority of the songs for that record. To say he wasn't there or didn't care is kinda ridiculous. It doesn't sound great, especially compared to Untitled, but the songs are there imo.

It truly is going to be a long weekend, huh?

Neighborhoods has a couple great songs and a few very good songs, but over all feels very disjointed and the band wasn’t exactly in a great place and the production quality is ass.

California has a couple great songs and a few very good songs, but overall feels way too fabricated and disingenuous and like they were forcing themselves to sound as Enema as possible, rather than writing an album that truly used Mark, Matt, and Travis to their full potential.

Nine is has a couple meh songs, but is overall pretty amazing.

Nobody forced Mark/Travis/Matt to release California the way it sounded. That’s what they were happy with at the time. I know Feldy pushed them to write a lot of songs, but at the end of the day, the band released what they wanted to.

  24. The only defense of neighborhoods I'll provide is gotdf and up all night translated really well to the live show on this tour.

Surprised DED is higher than any Skiba release. I love DED but would not rank it higher than either proper full release.
