haha, oh, the good old days of discovering new bands in the CD booklets of other bands albums. Jason did make that easier for us.

Haha AP. Net was my go to, and Alt Press. Then all those leaked sites liked it-leaked!

I would use Soulseek file sharing and just start downloading like crazy. I was usually the first one out of my friends to have them check out bands. I can't recall how many mp3s I had back in the day but it was ridiculous. I guess I was always excessive type of person...

I used mIRC a ton for leaked music. Then subsequently burned them onto CD for car rides. I had so many second and third tier albums from bands I would have never normally heard.

I had so many demo versions of albums that I didn't know were demo versions because they weren't properly tagged on file sharing sites. The Tell All Your Friends and Dream to Make Believe demos are canon in my head because I heard them first and listened to them so much before realizing they weren't the album versions. Oh, and Leaving Through The Window, too.

Yeah, I was just reminiscing the other day about listening to Good Apollo for the first time on a car ride to the beach on a burnt CD that I'd downloaded by shady means the night before. I then went on to buy the actual CD, so don't come for me!

Haha, I'd buy the album too if I loved it. Then go see said band on tour and buy some merch. Unfortunately, not everyone operated that way.

I was trying to remember the name of that site for the life of me! That was the last site I was hitting up for albums. What a time that was!

I remember going to shows and singing new songs not released yet and bands being stoked you knew the lyrics. On the other hand, I've had friends who did that and the band members would give them the dirtiest looks.

I bought the cd's as well. Hence why I have close to 2,000 cd's just sitting around now.

I discovered Armor For Sleep on MP3.com when they had demos up for Slip Like Space and The Wanderers Guild.

I recall also discovering AAR on there when they posted Swing, Swing and thought it was the greatest song at the time!

  17. Nice! I sold my original press of that awhile ago when I was strapped for cash, so it'll be nice to get that one back in my grubby hands.

  20. The artists I have more than one release on vinyl are Boygenius (2), Paramore (2), Hayley Williams (2), Fall Out Boy (2), Vagabon (2), Tessa Violet (2), Jay Som (3), Billie Eilish (3), and Linkin Park (4). The fact that some of y'all would have an artist's entire discography, and sometimes even multiple variants of the same album, is absolutely wild to me. Like, holy shit, is that gonna be me in five years? Is it just inevitable now? What have I gotten myself into

  21. Speaking of "discography" collections ... anyone think Cartel will press Collider again any time soon? It's the one I don't have and want, but the cheapest I've seen it is like a hundred bucks. :-/
