  2. Sorry but these are insane things to compare, if you think a stadium full of people isn't more justifiable than a single person in a private jet then I don't know what to tell you lol

I mean in addition to the private jet I can't even imagine the amount of trucks it takes to transport her stage set up from each location. This tiktok is relevant lol

Taylor flying anything but private seems absurd, her fans would make it a serious safety issue.

Don’t a lot of large tours charter their own 737 for a tour? I remember seeing U2 or the Stones had a plane for the entire crew and bands to travel between cities together. Seems like that wouldn’t be a terrible idea, similar to how a pro sports team travels.

Taylor Swift flying commercial would be such a safety hazard to any and everyone involved with that particular flight. What are we doing here lol

I mean first of all Taylor is not flying by herself all the time lol or probably ever

Second of all it’s not about what’s “justifiable”, if a stadium full of people has an extreme negative impact on the environment, shouldn’t we not be doing it?

that's such a lazy argument, no one should do anything ever then. Taylor is an almost billionaire she really doesn't need defended on this particular issue.

Maybe it’d go somewhere if we could get our hands on a dang private jet. :tear:

is the argument that Taylor Swift should still be choosing middle seats on Southwest to travel the world?

please for a moment at least try to be serious when posting in this thread

  12. I see we've reached the 'find out' stage of 'fuck around and find out'. I hope this record flops and tanks her career.

Serious question though, I know Taylor can be political from time to time but I don’t remember her ever being vocal on climate change so maybe it’s just a blind spot for her?

Coldplay was able to put green initiatives in place for their latest stadium tour and it may have cost them a bit more but it def didn’t hurt the production value in any way. Maybe she’ll do something like this for her next tour.

but to be honest, if we’re gonna be concerned out the earth, the amount of fast fashion and plastics (beads/bracelets) created by fans for the Renaissance and Eras tour probably dwarfs her emissions.

I do not think someone of her status is allowed to have a "blind spot" on climate change

no I think the most realistic argument is more does she have to fly home after every stop in a city is done? She’s on tour, rent out an entire hotel or something.

There's no way the serious solution is for her to fly commercial. Y'all have to realize how awful airports and flights would be wherever she's going.

  20. Yeah, bowing out of this one because it's silly and granular, any amount of environmental impact is not great but leaving like one of the 10 largest carbon footprints of any single human alive is definitely not a good thing lol. I don't think anyone is seriously suggesting she fly commercial, just maybe re-evaluate flying a private jet everywhere all the time.

look, from the beginning I’ve said this is a private plane issue, not specific to Swift but something that should be scrutinized across corporations and rich people, but it appears she maybe did do this quite a bit

Taylor Swift's private jets have spent over 166 hours crisscrossing the US during the singer's colossal Eras tour

The only person that mentioned commercial was me but I was just saying that’s the main solution people on the subreddit came up with and it’s not logical haha

Maybe we’re all collectively responsible for the environment being destroyed because the little things we do to help aren’t nearly as impactful as the big things we’re not willing to live our limited time on earth without and as the wildfires close in from every direction you kinda just wanna say fuck it and go to a Taylor Swift concert
