I don't mow because the power my dad has let me borrow is a piece of shit and I can't spare the money for a decent new battery powered one at the moment

considering getting like, an old manual mower tbh

What’s the best streaming service I can get for money? I only need it for the Eagles

Bosa is obviously great and I think Aiyuk is very good and so underrated, but the rest of those first round picks are…not good

    Curious!

this is honestly the dumbest part. Sure, take the risk on the Div II quarterback. Sure, trade up if you think he’s your guy. That’s all fine if you still win a lot of games and still get him for good value or still get decent value out of him later.

but it’s the lack of value whatsoever that makes it a horrible decision on both sides. Not only did they trade way more than like the Bears traded to get a better project QB in Fields, but they also waited way too long to sell him for anywhere close to what his potential was worth if they cut their losses sooner.

Losing a trade THAT BADLY actually does make SF culpable for not winning a Super Bowl with a Super Bowl ready roster last year - smarter allocation of resources probably gets them there.

we don’t need to have the argument again. Let’s just see how he does this year. At the end of the day doesn’t really matter whether he was or wasn’t.

He had flaws I really disliked in terms of, his chances of catching up to the complexity of NFL defenses within 2-3 years. (So far we’re at 2 and I wouldnt say he made great passing decisions last year). but I understood taking the risk on him because his raw accuracy and his running ability are rare, and I understand why so many people want him to succeed cause he was ridiculous in college.

to me that’s a project QB, but the kind you do go out of your way to draft if you need a QB and can’t get the best option. It’s not like a Trey Lance / Blake Bortles “why the fuck did they take him at pick 3” kind of project lol. But it is somebody who might not succeed as a long term starter if he doesn’t have very good coaching and stability to assist that learning curve.

it should also be mentioned how horribly the 49ers draft this year as well.

Ji'Ayir Brown was a good start then Jake Moody and Cameron Latu in the third was bonkers lol.

    Ji'Ayir Brown
    Jake Moody
    Cameron Latu
    Darrell Luter
    Robert Beal
    Dee Winters
    Brayden Willis
    Ronnie Bell
    Jalen Graham

    vs.

    Darnell Washington
    Kelee Ringo
    Dawand Jones
    Antonio Johnson
    Luke Wypler
    Andrew Vorhees
    Jalen Redmond
    Ivan Pace
    Christopher Dunn

i want him to succeed because i want people to stop talking about black QBs differently than white ones

I can admit that the Niners have some good players, but hitting on two out of seven first round picks is Verifiably Bad

oh yeah i'm not defending the choices at all. just saying that that just shows how much more impressive Shanny is by pointing out how many bad players they have

Eagles and Steelers showed everyone the blueprint for success - just draft good players. Sometimes it's literally just that simple.

Honestly dude hasn't played anywhere near enough to show if he sucks or not. And the only reason they're looking to trade him is because they lucked into Purdy.

Sure the media does this but I am not. With regards to this project QB conversation… In discord I brought up Ryan Leaf, in here I brought up Blake Bortles,

and I was literally just typing something about Ryan Tannehill being a project QB that eventually worked out, to explain that I don’t mean to imply that just cause you’re a project doesn’t mean I don’t think you can reach your ceiling. Tannehill is a less physically gifted (white) project who turned out to be a decent midrange QB, I think Fields is better on paper than that.

But he’s still a “project” in that I don’t trust 50% of the teams / coaches in the league to actually be able to teach him the stuff he’s lacking. Without a good roster and a good coach that’s a really tall order for him, or any “project” QB, to do what Josh Allen did with a good roster and a good coach (another white project QB we thought was a bust). These things require a scheme that actually creates reliable openings, and teammates who understand how to communicate the nuances of these concepts situationally, for a QB to really get into a rhythm with how NFL passing is supposed to work.

Aiyuk was a good pick and Shanahan was still dinking around with him his sophomore season and almost still fucked that up

Idk if we can call him a bad head coach considering where that team has gotten to in the post season and who their QBs have been.

So if you get a chance at a QB who isn’t a project and who already reads defenses and plans/times throws like an NFL passer, that’s precious and you gotta leap at that. It’s a fortunate thing to happen because those guys almost always go pick 1 unless there’s a draft with more than one (see: Tu’a and Justin Herbert)
