Been playing Vampire Survivors since it came to Switch and I am kind of baffled that people considered this one of the best games of last year. Its fun to unlock stuff but I dont know. I havent been playing that long and it feels impossible to lose. One of the most substanceless games Ive ever played.

Vampire Survivors is great and I also think something doesn't have to be difficult to be fun and satisfying (see: Final Fantasy XVI, has one of the most satisfying gameplay systems I've ever used and yet was absurdly easy, but still fun every second of gameplay)

I know most in here are not achievement hunters but going after the achievements show just how deep and complex the game is beyond what’s on the surface. But yes, easy doesn’t equal not fun. Unlocking all the characters was a blast.

 

Kinect 1 was a huge success, but they kinda blew it once they had to make stuff that uses it

 

I started Cyberpunk and you can change the character’s penis size. What?

 

I do but I mostly just use my PC for cRPGs, so it's been a while since I've upgraded it. Which makes me useless if you're looking for suggestions. lol

 

I enjoyed my dozen or so hours with Vampire Survivors but I don't think it ever got to the level it was hyped up to be for me, wouldn't call it substanceless but the dead spots in levels where you're waiting for the next hard wave became a bit too frequent for me and detracted from the fun.

I was really looking forward to Wrestlequest

 

I progressed very far in vampire survivors on gamepass but when I started over on my steam deck it was just painfully slow to get going again

 

I played it all the way through twice and with all the dlc it's real great

10/10

 

Im not saying easy is bad, but having the game play itself 60-75 percent of the time is.

I understand the draw of getting super powerful and the achievement stuff is great for people who are into that but it is a mostly hollow game. Im gonna keep playing because its great when you're stoned and hopefully something clicks and I come back here to eat my words.
