Well I'm going out drinking with a buddy and some people I don't know. This will be fun.

 

Everything @Your Milkshake revommended is great. Uptown is a blast for bars + has Kung Fu Saloon for barcade. Deep Ellum area has great bars too and is a looooot friendlier than it used to be. If you like lobster try Lefty's in Addison, good quality yet affordable. Also hit me up dammit!

Just trying to be there for the kid is a good first step. I know it's easier said then done, and if he's anything like I was at that age he'll be extremely apprehensive about the situation.

 

I'm in town for Wrestling so huge chunks of Sunday-Monday evening I won't be available. I'm down to get lunch or something Monday or having a late Sunday evening at a bar (Was thinking something like Kung Fu Saloon or Barcadia after Wrestlemania ends at 10ish, who knows how long it'll take me to get out however). I know a few other wrestling regulars are going to be in town as well.

Edit: Though I just googled Kung Fu Saloon Dallas and one of the google suggestions was racist... that can't be a good sign haha.

 

In much better news, I just found out that Lauryn Hill will be playing my city's Jazz festival this summer!!!

 

I still haven't seen her because she has a reputation for being late and tickets are always expensive

 

The race issue was definitely a big deal. For a while I was one of the people protesting Kung Fu. They've turned it around a looooot since then thankfully, but you're right, that was an awful time haha. Would be down for Barcadia instead for sure though, I've never been but I bet they also have better selection than Kung Fu

 

As long as she actually shows up I'll be happy. Last year or the year before Mos Def was supposed to play, but there were "travel issues". Turns out he was actually at some fashion show in France.

4:30 am and I'm just watching youtube videos about all the Irish accents

New artist of the week in the Listen Up thread. Excited for the exploration and conversation.

 

I get so stressed when I get a show offer. Got a call to play the House of Blues on May 13th but I get massive anxiety because I don't have a band and whenever I try meeting musicians to play for me, it always ends very badly.

 

Foxing tonight holy shiiiiit. Conor and Jess Abbott Night Channels duet, I transcended.

 

OMG. I came home and 2/4 of the dogs were just chilling on the lawn!! The two terribly behaved ones that run away! It was a miracle they didn't run and get lost. I know I latched the gate door shut because I double checked as I left. Either they made like the Jurassic Park dinosaurs and pushed on the door latch until it opened or someone let them out?? Maybe they were howling and barking so a disgruntled neighbor let them out? idk but I'm done with dogs now. If anyone needs their dogs watched, I'm not the one!

 

These people I was hanging with just randomly walked out and got an uber into the city. Like okay?

I bet if my grandma were on here she'd get more chorus likes than I do

 

I'm sad and pissed off and well I guess I'm just going to watch Buffy for now
