Is it superior sounding to say that all coastal locations have fresh seafood, and that doesn’t make a place special? I would say the same thing about Florida. The seafood’s good there too but it’s not a destination for seafood the way New England or New Orleans is, which is totally different.

Has nothin to do with me thinking my seafood opinions or experiences are better. Sometimes I feel like me speaking with confidence gets read into as me putting other people down, but my opinions aren’t about you and aren’t just invented to antagonize you

I have an extremely vague memory of a computer game I played as a kid in the late 90’s where I worked at McDonalds and made t-shirts and all the characters were there.

Not sure if this is a repressed memory of something really bad that happened to me or a reality

I didn’t really wanna respond to this but as someone who hung out with him multiple times before he had the reputation he has now…

actually no. We had fun and he was totally normal. I wish he would just genuinely be like that all the time. But it doesn’t excuse his repeated, consistent, shitty behavior toward people I respect online.

I don’t even know the whole story behind why he became so hated on here. I think a lot of that comes from the AP.net madden league I was never a part of. I’ve had people DM me and be like “dude if you knew the whole backstory you’d stop interacting with him” etc, but only Dustin has been explicit about what he did and said. (Which includes being shitty to his wife).

I do think he knows I don’t like his edgelord-bro shit and would be outspoken about it / not just let it go… so he filtered himself around me the times we’ve met in person. But like, if you’re a douche to my friends repeatedly (particularly Dustin) I’m not just gonna ignore that because you’re nice to me.

I’ve always felt real weird about that cause he has in general been supportive of me, the sports website was my idea and he did a lot of free labor to make it a Thing, he even delivered that amp I bought down to DC when he visited etc (it was pickup-only in NYC and he was living there at the time.) He for some reason has singled me out and behaved in a friendly manner toward me almost the whole time I’ve been on here.

but my friends have really good reasons to hate him, he’s behaved like the biggest asshole and said egregiously sexist things like it’s funny and intentionally pushes peoples buttons far beyond just messing around. He seems like one of those “lighten up don’t take the internet so seriously” folks, and the minute people call him out for it he responds with like, some vendetta against them to constantly go out of his way to piss them off. Dustin even tried to include him in the Pokémon league against his intuition, just to be nice, and he was being such an ass during our first draft that he immediately regretted it and booted him.

I also wasn’t a fan of his IRL friends that he brought into that sports writing thing we did years ago, just turned the culture into what you’d imagine a bunch of frat bros starting up a podcast would be like. And his best friend hated me and talked shit to me so much that I ended up leaving the website and he never really defended me. So that also informed me of, “maybe him being so nice and inoffensive to me is an act and this is really what he’s like rather than the other way around.”

 

Just got word that my work is offering Steelers tickets again this year in the private end-zone box like last year. But the options are either the Thursday night games or Christmas weekend, which is a bummer.
