It all leads to the same - Han people are better and more sophisticated than all of the other ethnicities near them, thus Han people and Han culture should willingly be spread & accepted and then dominate all that it once or currently touches. Korea, Tibet, Taiwan, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Mongolia. It's ethno-nationalism with intentions of subjugating others. Remove "supremacy" from it but the idea that Han are the "supreme" ethnicity - with the oldest and greatest culture - remains.

Han chauvinism, which was mostly used under Mao, was meant to denounce Han-ethnonationalism. Modern CCP is not under the 'Han chauvinism' ideology. It's full blown 大漢族主義 because that's what Xi sees as being the necessary calling card to Chinese rejuvenation. One of the reasons the CCP wants to invade Taiwan because they see it as theirs due to Han people and Han culture being there. There's no way around that, it's ethno-nationalism.
