Hiking at Yosemite. Was disconnected from everything and could not feel more refreshed. Even if you're not a huge fan of hiking it is well worth just spending a day there to get away from everything.

 

Hell yeah. I was at my buddy’s camp last weekend and barely got service and it ruled.

 

I’ve been getting into collecting Pokémon cards. I feel like I’m buying cigarettes when I tell the guy at the card store which packs I want behind the counter haha. Sorting and organizing them is actually really calming and stress relieving. Picking up a couple packs on my way home if there’s a sale gives me something to look forward to when I get home.

 

Finally getting off my lazy ass and getting back into an exercise routine for the first time in 7 years

 

Just discovered this album under the New Releases section on YouTube Music. This track is insane. Scream/heavy vocals, clean j-pop anime opening chorus. I haven’t heard anything like this

I had the most wholesome target interaction today. A woman came up to me in their cheap stuff aisle when u first go into the store and was like "I just need to tell someone. Im a teacher and my classroom is bee themed this year, and look at all this bee themed stuff i found!" And I was like "omg as a former teacher I feel u sis that's so exciting!" It was adorable

 

Honestly having no kids and not owning a home. Blah blah a home is a good investment but everyone i know who owns one is constantly doing work on it. The other day I was talking excitedly to someone about doing nothing this weekend and they're like "yeah you should be stoked how often can you just do nothing?" And I'm like oh... kinda often actually? No kids and no home so it's actually kinda chill when I'm not working lol

Big same. Knowing that I can do nothing after my morning shift today, sleep all morning and watch Oppenheimer tomorrow, go to Sydney for the final Camp Cope show in October and go to England for Christmas and my parents or sister can take care of the dog and I have no house or kids to worry about is a relief

 

I will say that if you own a home, doing work on it is hella satisfying if you have the inclination. Even though it’s your time and money, you don’t have to wait on a cheapskate landlord to do the bare minimum to fix anything.

 

Sometimes I wish I had a house to decorate more how I want but then I don't want to do the work to make that happen lol and I can't afford someone else to. I wish I was more of a DIY person. I guess I can always learn but I'm so impatient. I wouldn't mind a little townhome type thing with a small or no yard tho. It's weird I feel like there aren't a lot of small starter homes in my area. It's like giant houses or luxury condos or rent an overpriced apartment

 

My kitchen looks like someone took a sprayer and just sprayed all the walls and cupboards white and they look terrible. So I’m starting the process of repainting the cupboards and omg they are going to look so good!!! My mom had leftover paint so I’m using that and I bought new gold knobs. Can’t wait to see them all finished! I always wanted like sage green cupboards and that’s the exact color she had.

 

Called off work today and took my nephews to a car/airplane show. Been really down lately and spending the day with them was just what I needed!

I finished reading the 8 volume manga series Pluto and it is one of the best works of fiction I’ve ever read. Its existence is a reason to live.

 

My front door inside and out was painted bright red. I repainted it today and for such a small change, it made a huge difference!! Also I usually walk around and notice all the things that need fixed, but today I saw all the things I’ve already done and it felt really great! I gotta keep focusing on those things bc for only being here 5 months, I’ve done a lot!
