Is this not due to space and zoning issues in Blue States primarily? I know for things like solar farms and windmill farms the amount of space needed is not always a fit for some of these blue states/blue counties.

That writer just throws out a target for what he would like to see these funds be closer to 20 to 1 but has not justification for why he thinks it can get to that.

The graph doesn’t specify what is being defined here as “clean energy”. I just worry that it includes carbon capture and hydrogen made from natural gas, both of which do not really support carbon free energy. And yeah I’m seeing red states pave the way for those things because it means more fracking. I know that the fossil fuel industry has pushed for this clean energy term to drown out “green energy” so I’m always a little skeptical when I see it without specification.

And the older generations are the ones buying $60k plus new vehicles like trucks that they never use for its intended purpose.

Would love to have the cargo space of a minivan or SUV just for transporting things, but I just hate driving big cars. Always been a sedan driver. Luckily my fiance has an SUV.

Most people rarely need all that space. You’re better off financially getting a small car (or not owning one at all) and just renting a uhaul or van from Home Depot when you actually need one.

The transition to a minivan wasn't as difficult as I expected. We went from a Prius V to the minivan, and other than the length (which is an issue mostly only for parallel parking), the main difference is you sit up a little higher, but not comically high like in many SUV's.

True! Although it was definitely nice having access to an SUV when I bought a new TV last month. Definitely wouldn't have fit in my Civic

Uhauls are also terrifying to drive. Not only do you have no rear windshield, but many of them have side mirrors that cannot be adjusted at all, so they're useless. Literally driving blind behind you

We got an outback at the start of the pandemic and it was a godsend for our kid/dog having selves. But we still needed to by a turtle for the top because we needed more storage space when going on longer trips haha
