cause they have been convinced for 20 years at this point that “rock bands” don’t sell. So they don’t even bother putting anything behind anyone until they organically start to get some momentum. It’s all about singular stars or rappers. But I mean I could name like 25-30 bands that if they had any sort of support whatsoever would probably be 10x bigger.

It’s awesome to see HM blow up. The band thrived even though You’ll Be Fine was released right when Covid hit which is pretty amazing. I feel like they are the first band to really blow up since the Neck Deep/State Champs era of pop punk and their last two albums blow anything those bands have ever done out of the water lol

It’s also great that a band that’s pretty much done it by non stop touring and being on smaller labels is the one to blow up instead of some Travis Barker produced garbage like Mod Sun or JXDN lol

I agree that it's cool these bands are getting to this kind of level but have there really been articles with labels complaining they don't have big pop acts anymore? Seems like there are PLENTY of those acts to go around.

Yup. There's a few others, but this Billboard one is pretty much what spawned the rest. They acknowledge that there's "bright spots" or glimmers of hope or whatever but...

But yeah, they're getting nervous that it's going to get rarer and rarer to see "mega stars." Which is apparently something that's surprising? LOL

I've been seeing Hot Mulligan since 2015 when they were the literal last band on the Bled Fest lineup and their show in December will be my 20th time seeing them, haha.

Just a heads up to anyone going to the AAR/NFG Tampa show tonight. Ticketmaster says the show starts at 7:00 but the venue posted on IG that the show starts at 6:30.

Looking at those set times NFG posted, those are gonna be some SHORT "just the hits" sets unless there's a rotating stage or the crew is insanely efficient.

Yeah I was hoping NFG would get 50-60 min but looks more like 40. I was hoping it should be more coheadliner length since NFG is doing VIP stuff and will have just as much pull as AAR imo. Oh well it’s enough to still be a fun night and I can leave half way through AAR to avoid traffic lol

Ca$ino $how. It also reminds of like 2015 when everyone cried about State Champs opening for 5 Seconds of Summer on their NZ/AU tour.

JoBros tour starts tomorrow, looking forward to seeing what they come up with for that eras-esque themed tour.

Nevermind looks like it’s been updated. NFG should be getting 50-60 which is great.

    TGUK 650
    TSL 735
    NFG 820
    AAR 940

Yeah to me that reads as 30 mins for TGUK and TSL and 50 for NFG

  20. TSL should get an hour lol

I think this show is getting delayed. Get Up Kids are supposed to be on in 15 minutes and they still have AAR’s stuff out and it sounds like they’re having issues with sound check.

Here as well haha. I wondering the same thing. I was like are they gonna use AAR drum set haha

Yeah, definitely delayed haha. First show of the tour issues, for sure!

It also looks like they closed off the lawn and upgraded everyone to seats.
