Also, I'm guessing this has already been answered in here, but in case not, once these rerecorded versions are released/put up on streaming, does she take down the existing/original versions, so streams only go to the rerecorded versions?

9 years ago I discovered AP as a holier-than-thou scene kid who looked down upon anything that would get played on top 40 radio. I had finally found like-minded corner of the internet.

I saw people there talking un-ironically about 1989's upcoming release, and after a moment of confusion I said to myself "if she's good enough for them, she must be good enough for me". I ended up actually convincing my younger sister, a lifelong Swiftie who had given up on her after "Shake it Off", to give 1989 a chance.

9 years later, Taylor has been my consistent favourite artist throughout that time. My sister and I have bonded over her in a way that I can honestly say I don't know what our relationship would look like without her. We've shared so many "Taylor moments" over the past 9 years which will culminate in two Eras Tour dates in February, after circumstances have prevented us from seeing her live together.

This one is going to be special. To anyone who was around back then, thanks for showing a 20 year old kid it's okay to like what you like and for enabling me to have had these moments and countless more to come.

So what are the odds this is the first re-recorded album to top one million album-equivalent units sold in its opening week? Each release so far has seen an increase in combined sales/streams.

Fearless (TV) - 443,000 (When combining its staggered release week of CDs, Digital Downloads & Streaming and its Vinyl & Signed CDs release week later that year)

Red (TV) - 605,000

Speak Now (TV) - 716,000

Between 1989 being Taylor’s most popular album, the number of deluxe CDs already being marketed ala Midnights, and whatever else is to come prior to 10/27, I’d say it’s more likely than not.

 

I think it hits 1 million or comes very close to it. Depends on if they count that bundle of all 4 cds that’s like $80 after taxes as 1 cd or 4 individual cds. Pretty sure it will be counted as 4 individual ones and it’s only available for 89 hours or until they run out whatever comes first

 

New Romantics + New Year’s Day is a near perfect secret song duo.

 

Wonder if Sweeter Than Fiction and the Bad Blood remix with Kendrick are included in the 5.
