Yeah I've been over it for a while unfortunately. Didn't grip me like BOTW did. Still have to do the lightning and spirit temples

 

TOTK has a 96 with 145 reviews. Baldur’s only has 14 lol it’s not even comparable.

 

People still really love TOTK, I don't think most people are over it

But yes it's got serious competition in BG3, so far I like BG3 more but they're both magnificent games

BG3 gameplay is great alone.

But the decision making and outrageous amount of recorded dialogue is an absurd feat

 

Zelda, Starfield, Spider-Man and BG3 at the end of the year

 

Armored Core 6 won't have the same widespread appeal as Elden Ring even though it'll probably be amazing

Final Fantasy 16 has my heart and is my personal GOTY still but it's got plenty of flaws and is not the same darling that BG3 or TOTK is

I do think it's gotta be BG3 or Zelda to the public

16 was my favorite game of the year. 16 scratched every FF itch that my brain had and I don’t think it’ll get the love it deserved later in the year.

This year was absolutely stupid for game releases. And we still have a bunch of big ass titles coming

 

does baldurs gate 3 have wide appeal? i mean im aware how influential the series and how cool 3 looks. but are most normies gonna play it? its gameplay is old school, you roll a dice.

PC titles never, ever end up with 100s of reviews. You won’t see a spike in reviews for another month or two.

TOTK is my current favorite game of the year so far but it’s not as captivating as BOTW. I beat the story back in May and haven’t tried completing all the shrines or side quests. RE4 remake would be second favorite.

 

It's been described by PC Gamer as "a horny Persona", although I guess it's surprisingly not the horniest game to come out this year.

You say Baldur's Gate doesn't have wide appeal, but word on the street is that it's got something for everyone.

 

TOTK is fantastic superior to BOTW. One of my games of the year for sure.
