  1. From what I'm looking at it seems like it is a regular ol record that you can actually listen to and then a melted record that you can be sad about?

i could've sworn the standard vinyl is already 2 LPs so my assumption is that it applies to both discs?

  3. I'm kind of annoyed that FB is targeting me with Merchbar ads but liek look how fucking pretty this thing is

Never really done much with bootlegs before, but I got tired of waiting for these two Counting Crows records to get pressed and saw that there were relatively recent boots of both that were pretty well-regarded in the fan community. They both sound pretty great to me and I’m super happy to finally have both of these in my collection.

My heart skipped a beat when I saw this picture... I have the 2017 pressings of AAEA and Recovering the Satellites.

I don't do boots but at the going rate for This Desert Life and Hard Candy never being pressed yet.... This is very tempting.

    Where did you grab these?

The AAEA and RTS pressings were instant buys for me when they came out, and I figured/hoped it would be only a matter of time before This Desert Life and Hard Candy got pressed. But I saw both of these pop up for not-unreasonable prices and figured I'd give it a try. I definitely wasn't going to pay like $1,000 for an original TDS, and Hard Candy has never even been pressed before.

Unfortunately, the spots I got both of these look like they're sold out (I think I got the last copy of Desert Life, and the Hard Candy listing isn't even live anymore) but you can find them on Discogs.

One thing I like is that whoever did these put some bonus tracks on each, including "Baby, I'm a Big Star Now" on the end of Desert Life.

Yeah, I think maybe. There were rumors of that, at least for Desert Life. I don't know if it was ever confirmed. I think Adam had said something a few years ago about working on getting these two pressed, but nothing ever came of it.

I'll preface by saying that Counting Crows were my first favorite band and that their initial four-album run was extremely important to me and super formative for my music taste. So for me, finally getting these two (I think for about $120 or $130 out the door for both) was totally worth it. And like I said, they sound pretty good to my ears. I'm not an audiophile by any means, but it seems like the consensus among fans is that these are both pretty good boots.

No liner notes, which is a bummer, and they're not gatefold, which is to be expected.

I love this album. I remember when prisoner of society premiered on Krock in New York, booker immediately played it a 2nd, and 3rd time back to back.

Is there a US link to this anywhere?

Well since we were on the topic of Counting Crows.

No better time spin this one.
