I have a dumb question.

Since streaming numbers now configure into album “sales” (right?) are bands purposely doing very, very long single rollouts so by the time an album is released their streams have racked up a ton, thus, increasing their first week “sales” or do the album “sales” streams not count the streams prior to the album being released?

Or am I way off base here?

For a band like Blink, it likely won’t matter because they’d have big first week sales anyway, but noticing more and more bands releasing singles way, way ahead of album releases - or before even announcing an album.

Just curious to how that all works now.

awesome to see blink amongst the pop juggernauts in the top charting tours of June.

 

What if we all stop listening to edging and asking Travis shit on twitter? Then they’ll be all “they’ve forgotten about us, release the album NOW!” Then they’d fall right into our trap you see? It’s perfect.

 

All of us will do it and it will be working, but then some shit heads on Reddit will ruin the plan and the band will keep holding new music from us.

 

I've gone from 'hurry the fuck up' to 'not fussed' now. Gonna stop looking at breadcrumbs.

Edging has been out for nearly a year, I can survive another few months, even if the album is delayed. Seeing them in Feb and couldn't be more excited.

 

Ive shifted to autopilot and will be pleasantly surprised when all this drops. Until then, Im not counting on/hoping for shit in a specific time frame. It'll happen when it happens and it'll be glorious

The wait has been longer than expected but there’s been so many good releases this year that it hasn’t bothered me that much.

 

Maybe they are re-recording it with Feldy.

The "detectives" on Reddit are now theorizing that something is in the works (surprise I know)... but if you type "More than youll ever know" into Spotify, blink-182 comes up as the top result... and yes I know "you'll" has an apostrophe - it only works without it.

For the new album, are we expecting a funny album title/cover or an artsy "serious" one?

I could see them doing some sort of innuendo album title with a funny cover, to really milk those nostalgia feels.

 

Hard At Work, except it's a completely blank cover, because irony.

 

At this point, I hope the album isn't titled Hard at Work - it'd be nice if we got a random one that hasn't been discussed.
