I feel like technical complaints here are unwarranted. The film is shot very well and there is lot to like about the aesthetic. Comparing Snyder to Michael Bay isn't completely inaccurate (Snyder has more of a distinct visual style and is more broody, but they're both style over substance type directors) and that's not really an insult; Michael Bay is very competent in what he does.

Yoo I thought this Justice League vs Teen Titans movie was supposed to be good?

Lol, it really isn't great. I own it and I'll watch it again though.

It's been years since I watched the Raimi versions, but I remember those a lot more fondly. I'll have to rewatch to see if it's mostly nostalgia, but for now I find Maguire the better Parker and Spider-Man

Some of the VA work is pretty bad, especially Raven. Granted it's tough to not compare the Titans voice work here to that of the shows, which is really good.

Some very cheesy scenes too, I wouldn't say it's bad, but not a lot here to praise.

Peter Parker at his best is possibly my favorite fictional character, alongside Leslie Knope, and he means a lot to me. I saw ASM more times in theaters than any other film.

As a kid, I was finally happy to see Spider-Man in theaters, but I wasn't impressed, and I was easily pleased back then. Last year, I rewatched SM and hated it. So much. The leads are absolutely horrible.

I will say that some of the pacing in ASM could have been better, there were rough moments, and the Lizard wasn't all that great. However, what the film got right ultimately captured my favorite aspects of my favorite era of Spider-Man so perfectly that I'm worried about any future iterations of Peter Parker.

If you took ASM, gave him the ASM2 outfit, substituted the Alfred Molina Doc Ock in for that Lizard, and incorporated a cameo from JK Simmons as JJJ, you'd have just about the most perfect Spider-Man film that could exist.

I certainly enjoyed ASM more than this... ASM 2 however is still something I deeply resent.

I was thinking today, the most engaged I've been in cinematic Superman is still this Man of Steel trailer. The film itself disappointed me, and BvS is both better and worse, and I didn't like Brandon Routh, and the original films haven't aged well. But, this trailer, specifically this trailer, makes me so excited about the character of Superman and so eager to spend more time with the character.

Just got back from seeing it. It wasn't very good, but I didn't totally hate it. Like enough of the Batman stuff to be excited for Affleck's film and I thought Wonder Woman was cool. Her theme was the only part of the score I actually liked. The rest was bad. Editing was atrocious, but some of the fights were entertaining. Essentially: not totally terrible, but not very good.

ASM2 is easily the best Spiderman has ever looked on screen (though I have high hopes for the new suit, and I love the eyes).

The pacing in ASM and the weakness of the Conners plot made the movie drag a lot, and I don't think Garfield was was great. Some of that could have been writing, but I don't think he pulled off the dramatic scenes or the quips that well. I did love Emma Stone (duh) and Martin Sheen was good. I actually really liked the ending, the sad scene with Gwen in the rain got to me, and the closing webslinging sequence was fun. I'm not sure how I feel about the whole "promise" thing when Peter decides to disregard it like a week after Captain Stacy dies.

I never felt most of the music fit the scenes, that's my main issue. I honestly burst out laughing at times because it was so weird and wrong with what was on screen. I'd totally listen to the heck out of the Wonder Woman one though (and currently am haha).

I just can't agree with your assessment of Andrew Garfield or even pretend I understand it, lol. His quips and charisma in that suit were everything I dreamed of seeing onscreen, and his chemistry with Emma Stone out of costume made the complete lack of chemistry in the old films that much more blatant.

I'll admit I liked Garfield in ASM, as well as Stone. Still haven't seen ASM2.

  17. I really, really didn't like ASM. Honestly think the Raimi trilogy gets too much flack sometimes, although I know that's partially nostalgic value on my part.

  18. I think there is plenty of validity in making technical complaints. I think making comparisons to Bay is a little easy and perhaps unfair, but this film was filled with choppy scene cuts as well as some rough sound mixing. Even concerning Snyder's style, he's done much better than this.

we've seen the shadow of the axe before Supporter

The first two were great, but the third is probably the most disappointed I've ever been walking out of a theater. After those trailers, I thought it was going to be the best yet.

It's like Raimi just completely forgot how to make a good movie.

The voice acting has been bad to just decent for the last five years.

I can totally get the freezing during such traumatic events. Part didn't bother me at all.

What makes me cringe each time is the "You're the boss, boss" line. I love how they made Bruce be such a strong figure for his employees, but there certainly could have been a better line.

  22. That line sucked. A lot of the dialogue was just so bad. I wouldn't want my name on that if I'm the guy that wrote Argo.

The rumored Red Hood script makes me very excited though. At least that is a story so personal to Batman that it would work really well after (or in between, depending on when it comes out) the Justice League films. Personal enough to keep Bruce to want to fight it alone, and strong of a story enough to not make it bombarded with action and explosions. We'll see though.

    music and baseball.

Honestly, the first 10 mins, or however long that first scene with Affleck lasted, gave me no hope that he was going to pull it off. Besides the Jeep commercial and that cheesy running into the destruction scene, it was A+.

I loved that entire sequence besides the "boss boss" line. I think Bruce running into the smoke was a decently powerful to introduce him, and the encounter with the younger girl. It was an intense scene, and I think the final shot of seeing the red cape flying by was enough for me to understand Bruce's unhinged paranoia.
