It remains interesting to me that a lot of people don't think XOXO was great. Such a clear "top-notch hook parade" album to my ears.

 

Same. I don't understand it either. Holds up super well for me and I've been listening to it all summer.

 

The closer in particular has ended up on a bunch of playlists I’ve made recently.

 

Did they ever release an extended version of Love in Real Time?

 

I much prefer XOXO to YOA. XOXO is actually their second best album for me.

 

My advance was supposed to come yesterday and hasn't yet and I'm sad I wanna listen to a band called the maine that will never re-press their albums on vinyl for me.

Sigh. I'm hoping they release it as a random surprise for the anniversary of XOXO's release at some point. Not sure when they'll do it, but if they've brought it up, surely it'll see the light of day... one day.

 

Honestly assumed this would already be out somewhere by now, didn’t realize it released at the same time everywhere

Yup, and it doesn’t sound like they did any real advances either

 

I remember finding an advanced leak of Lovely, Little, Lonely on an Ukraine music streaming platform, probably about a week before the official release. Was the strangest find, proud of these guys for holding onto it tight, really intrigued to hear this "thoughts I have while laying in bed" they keep hyping up

 

I honestly can’t believe this the the third LP since LLL which is still so much in rotation and feels brand new to me lol

 

The fact the band are on their 9th album in 15 years is impressive.

 

Can’t wait to play this the rest of summer.
