i would say shiny is the weakest record of the last three idk (rubin makes abominable-sounding albums)

 

neither shiny nor cyr has a song as strong as "every morning," etc.

if you hate synths fair cop i guess but i think new order/goth type stuff is arguably truer to corgo's dna than triple-layered guitarrrs (which atum has a... decent amount of i'd say)

Looks like they did an Oceania song live this weekend, which is great. I'd say Oceania is head and shoulders above their recent output and Oceania had Billy as the only original member left at that point.

 

And they played a Zeitgeist track, holy shit!

i remember loving like 1/2 of zeitgeist

 

It’s surprisingly an album that’s gotten better with age (in my opinion)

 

I’d also put Zwan up there as some of my favorite stuff Corgan ever did. Not Mellon Collie and Siamese Dream levels but a tier or two below in my eyes

 

I listen to Zwan a ton, that album is incredible. Hopefully more of that music is released someday

 

Going through this album again this morning and it's 1) REALLY fucking long 2) NOT bad but not especially memorable 3) No chance in hell I can decipher the story or care to.

Also, listened to Oceania the other day and that one is a lot better than I remembered. I still think Zeitgeist mostly sucks though.

 

One day we'll fix that.

 

Sitting in a Hyundai dealer having work done on my car and two things are going through my mind as I listen to this in full:

1. This is way too fucking long.

2. I wish Zeitgeist was on Spotify.
