First listen now and honestly I can say I'm surprised at the musical direction and choices here! In a good way though, I went in kinda assuming what this may be like but there's some extremely cool and creative picks here

 

I think this is generally pretty good, but it hasn't quite clicked for me yet in the way basically everything else she's done has.

 

If it helps it took about 4 or 5 listens for it to really click for me. I thought it was just okay for a few listens and then when it hit, it really hit.

Think Stadium Love is my favorite so far on first listen

 

Yeah, I definitely like this more than The Loneliest Time. I don’t love either record as much as her previous work, but this has a lot of really cool stuff on it, and I have a feeling I’m going to be listening to it a decent amount.

 

I’m glad I hit the bong a few times before my first listen. Half way through and having the best time.

 

My only complaint about the album is I don't love the opener and closer. Everything else is so up my alley it's insane

 

Loneliest Time was my album of the year so I am very thrilled to have new stuff so soon. I could talk for hours on why I adore that album

This new one has so many cool textures I did not expect from her. Pretty much every song took me by surprise on first listen. Aeroplanes is such a unique track in her catalogue. There’s nothing like it. It genuinely feels like I’m walking through a brainstorm. Kollage might be my new favorite Carly song though. What an impressive track. Very excited to sink my teeth into this more. Only complaint is I wish it came out later in the year; a lot of these songs scream fall to me. But that’s okay, getting Carly music is literally Christmas in July.

 

Yeah those two are definitely the weakest on here. The rest range from good to great.

On first listen, I really want to like this more than I actually do. I think it’s okay.

I think it will grow on me, i know The Loneliest Time was a grower. And I wouldn’t write off anything she does at this point.

Psychedelic Switch is my early favourite.

 

The production on this feels really different from anything else she does.

 

I had like 3-4 keepers on Loneliest but 9-10 on Loveliest. wild.

"put it to rest" is like CRJ's ecstatic spin on "la ritournelle" or something, amazing and unexpected

 

As someone who’s only experimented with gummies, vape, and a couple joints - what’s a bong like?

 

It’s definitely a quicker/stronger high than a smoking a joint. I wanna say it’s a nice middle ground high between a joint and a gummy.

 

When I still smoked I think Bong highs were my favorite. Just immediately super baked and especially when you ripped it too hard and started coughing. Blunts got me too high. Bongs were a good middle ground

 

Sidenote, but a Charli XCX/Carly Rae Jepsen tour (The "Charli & Carly Tour!") could do a ton of damage on the arena/amphitheater circuit

 

Would be a dream tour

Her opening set for boygenius was so good. I love her so much like she is the prime minister of pop and deserves all the success. Psychedelic Switch was so fun live omg

 

Show tonight was maybe the best concert I’ve ever been to. She just kept going and every song was perfect. Said they’d keep playing until someone stopped them.

Basically played all my favorite songs, including Julian (!!).

 

So jealous, wish I could have gotten a ticket

 

She's doing a matinee show today to make up last night's rain out. Hopefully that doesn't kill her voice for the evening show I'm attending.

 

tonight was the best crj show i've seen yet..... incredible setlist
