I mostly disliked Beach House and So Nice on Loneliest. Everything else was good but those two songs grate on me whenever I listen to that album. Wish the bonus tracks replaced them instead.

 

had to take a break to take a phone call with family, so i'm just now finishing this up. lots of phenomenal cuts throughout, although i still think the highs of The Loneliest Time are near untouchable (still think Talking to Yourself is her best newer song that captures that energy from Run Away With Me and Cut to the Feeling), but there's a lot of great stuff to chew on here.

 

Talking to Yourself is 100% one of her best songs to date.

beach house was already a lot of fun but something about seeing it live with the other band members singing those parts made it reeeeeally pop off for me

I wish I heard what you guys heard ToT I’ll admit it was more fun live but that’s the nicest thing I can say about it

 

I absolutely love Beach House, don’t see how that song wasn’t huge and played all over the radio last year.

 

Beach House is the only song on TLT that’s a skip for me. Fun live tho.

Just finished The Loveliest Time and yeah it doesn't flow like a proper album as it goes in so many different directions but it's filled with bangers and more left field stuff. As an example, don't know if it's the bonkers drum work but Put It To Rest even gave me Mutemath vibes. I can't say I was expecting this going into it, but Carly always has tricks up her sleeves.

Psychedelic Switch is probably my favorite on here after first listen. Really hope that makes it into the tour rotation

I do agree that this does feel like a collection of songs rather than an album that flows well from start to finish. Every song is a bop, though and I thoroughly enjoy what i heard.

 

Listening to Shy Boy and just realized the Midas Touch three lines are directly lifted from Ellie Goulding’s Midas Touch. Wonder if it’s the same song writers.

rest of the album thus far has been really fun but nothing immediate yet like talking to yourself or surrender my heart.

 

Ellie's version is a cover of the original by Midnight Star, so Shy Boy interpolates the original song.

 

Kamikaze is instantly one of my favorite Carly songs ever

 

Same!!! Psychedelic Switch and So Right are up there for my favorite tracks so far.

 

yeah this record is fucking awesome actually, really kept me on my toes going in a bunch of unexpected directions

 

"put it to rest" is the greatest crj song of all time

 

i thought this was out out today damn

 

the best parts of this record are when the production is OUTRAGEOUS

 

I want her to make a full album with Rostam. They create magic together.
