Yeah I am a Canadian who was raised here so have no real reason to ever defend the country but it’s not even apples and oranges, it’s apples and hand grenades you’re comparing.

I agree with this and was not trying to directly compare the two things. A nation state is wildly different from an individual company or rich asshole.

That said, we have quite a history of owners of sports teams in this country getting away with all sorts of crimes and discrimination within their own sports teams and not even getting to the companies that helped build their wealth. I mean look how long it took Daniel Snyder and Donald Sterling to give up their teams. Much of that goes under the radar and at some levels ignored. Was not trying in anyway to compare the two but I wish the appropriate attention would be given to those things, which we are starting to see some of that in more recent years.

So all going well we will sign Onana, Mount, Højlund, and Amrabat. Which is odd because going into the summer that’s probably every position we needed players for. Eriksen replacement, Case backup, keeper, and striker. But I don’t hugely rate any of them except Onana, and even then I think he’s a massive upgrade on DDG but not best keeper in the league level. Happy if that’s how things shake out but yeah they wouldn’t have been my choices.

An incredibly easy to dislike footballer. It's like when Mourinho or Conte managed Spurs, it's nice to put my hatred into one place.

One of those players that you love when on your team and hate when they're on the opposition.

There is no way this works right? All these older players trying to play in hot ass Miami and then fly all over the States?

Like I have zero idea on what these means for their roster and what they are allowed to do. Do they still get the u-21 DP slot? Is that still a thing? I hate MLS' roster rules, its almost as bad as the NBA Salary Cap.

They’re all taking monster paycuts to hang with their besties. I get it. Can’t afford to do it, but I get it.

I was trying to describe myself to someone

Onana is definitely a good signing on paper, but I'm not sure what to make of the others. Mount we know is pretty great if you can get a tune out of him, Højlund is still young and somewhat unproven, so not sure what the expectation is for him initially and I don't know what to make of the Amrabat signing at all.

That all being said though, there's already some top quality players at United, so if you can just get the rest of the team solid and get the right attitude in the players again, I think there's plenty enough there to more convincingly get a top 4 place again.

I'm not sure on the Fernandes captancy at all though. He's so petulent. Unless giving him the responsibility knocks that out of him, I think he could be a terrible choice...

Now we just need to convince more people to join the other teams

the first LAG game vs Miami where Riqui Puig is the most fit will be fun

Yeah they’re all the right position and right profile for what we need. But they’re hardly best in the world at those positions.

Bruno was captain pretty much all last year when Maguire didn’t play (which was like 75% of the season) and is highly regarded in the squad. I don’t see much downside to it. There’s a leadership group of Case, Varane, Rashford, Shaw, and Heaton along side him.

I think Hojlund will hit the ground running honestly. Kid seems to be exactly the kind of profile EtH wants in a striker and I really trust Erik to properly develop him. It won’t hurt that Bruno finally has someone in the forward line beyond Bruno who can put away a chance.

Onana is to be announced in 10 mins, honestly shut the club down if they didn’t license out the Rihanna song for the announcement video.

The amount of chances we create in the second half of last season and in the two pre-season games you’d hope any striker that can finish would put up decent numbers.

Then again we did see Weghorst out there…

I’m predicting a Chicharito kind of impact this season, but anything that’s solidly above Weghorst should be no problem at all.

David Silva's ruptured his ACL at 37. Likely a career ender, that.
