    Fight the long defeat.

Are you referring to the pre-gap track, or the airport intercom at the start of the title track?

Airport intercom. One has it included in the track, the other doesn't and just starts the music (I believe the airport intercom is in the pre-gap on that version).

The pre-gap track is Matt T's father singing Sahara

Yap. Discussing the difference in CDs, however...thanks for the reminder though.

Who wants a live Relient K album? I think there's one coming. RK hinted at it on Twitter recently and chatter on the RK Reddit says there's been recording gear set up at shows during their Switchfoot tour.

Whaaaat that'd be fun I guess. It's not my favorite set list but good for them.

I'm into it. The Columbus show was awesome and I was SO hyped when they switched up the setlist I had scouted out and played Deathbed. I was so hoping they would do that. Totally not disappointed.

I'll give any Relient K a welcome but a live album would be nice because they've never been to the UK!

    I hate spoilers. Supporter

They had a ton of video/audio recording before during and after the AFF release show too.

That acoustic performance is dope. Great harmonies, love that extended whoa-oh part

The repress started shipping this week.

I'd be bummed if it still had issues.

just got mine yesterday so I'm assuming it's a repress, i'll have to contact them. I put on "mhmm" and "FSASYA" vinyl on immediately following to check if it was maybe my record player, but it wasn't, those worked great.

Wait, you're saying the copy of AFF you received yesterday is having issues? They stopped shipping out copies until they received the repress/corrected version to sell...

This could just be a fluke, or we're all in for a second round of bad presses.

Let's just hope for the former.

yup, arrived in the mail just yesterday. white vinyl, had some black spots here and there on it but thought maybe it was fine. put it on, and it squeaks before the music starts and continues during the song. so that's when I was like, hold on, I've switched my speeds a bit recently listening to both ep's and lp's, so let me put on some other lp's to see if they have the same issue. they don't, so it must be just Air For Free :\

Yeah...no kidding. I guess we'll have to wait for the two other folks in this thread who actually listen to their vinyl to chime in about their copies ;) Jokes.

this album did not age well. i listened to it for the first 2 days thought it was ok but i never even wanted to revisit.

it kinda sounds like collapsible lung part 2

I'm confused. It didn't age well but you only listened for 2 days? Or did you listen again recently?

This is the album Collapsible Lung should have been. It has some of the poppier elements but actually backs them up with tremendous songwriting. I don't know how anyone could think this album isn't miles better. I mean, you're free to think that if you want, but you're seriously missing out. :)

It's all opinions...this discussion has already been had so many times in this thread...let's keep it current.

Curious how the new AFF pressings are sounding...also, anyone gotten any cool RK merch from their current tour they want to share?

I don't know that it's just a matter of opinion to say Air for Free is better than CL in the musical and lyrical department. It's more thoughtful and layered on both counts. That's why the majority of us love it--not because it's just like, our opinion man. Whether or not it resonates with someone is what's subjective. Although I guess even that can be disagreed with. :) I was just curious if Jorb had given it the time it needed since it's so expansive and, in my experience, it took time for some of the songs to settle in and become as enjoyable to me as they are now. Sounded more combative than I meant for it to sound though. The "you're free to think that if you want" comment was obnoxious. Sorry about that, Jorb.

I'm looking forward to getting the vinyl when it's finally solidified. :)

I am surprised to see the phrase 'this didn't age well' thrown around after a few months. The album surely hasn't been out long enough to age.

(Yes, I understand people might not like it when returning to listen but I still wouldn't equate that with it not ageing well)

Bummed they didn't make it to the NW for this tour. I know they have a VIP poster that's a slightly wider shot of the AFF album cover that looks awesome. Would be great to pick up one, but alas..
