The funniest Young Indiana I have seen so far is when Indy meets Leo Tolstoy in Russia, and it pretty much depicts Tolstoy like he was Gandalf the Gray or some shit. There was points where Tolstoy was hanging out with serfs where it felt like Gandalf amongst the Hobbits.

They were going to have Forrest Gump 2 tied to 9/111 before they came to their senses.

I think the second book was also pretty damn grim wasn’t it?

Fixed for accuracy. He's pretty famous for getting people off planes.

So I saw this movie today, and I overall enjoyed it. I don't really have an eye for CGI, I guess, as I was not bothered one bit by the de-aging at the beginning. The only time I ever really have an issue with CGI is in DC films, for some reason.

The only thing I really had an issue with is the ending with Marion felt very tacked on and not earned at all. It'd be different if she had more of a presence in the film and if there was talk about them ever reconciling, but it just felt very much like they wanted to give Indy a happy ending and didn't know how else to do it.

Shout out to Mads for that final scene when they realize they're in the wrong time period and they don't have enough gas to turn around. The look on his face spoke volumes of a man who has just had everything they've ever worked for crumble to nothing around their feet.

Also were they really suggesting that the dial was effectively a Batman gambit for Archimedes to isekai someone?

Then I suppose we've reached what Fred Colon persists in referring to as an "imp arse".

I didn’t know the Batman term, but I was aware of how he does it. The second one is new to me. With that said, I would say yes to your original question. He built it to bring him help from “somewhere/when else.” That seems to fit what the link says.

Now that I'm really thinking about this, if the dial only ever pointed to the same rift, then wouldn't one dial just not change no matter what you did to the other dial? Shouldn't someone have noticed that?

So was Antonio Bandares just recording some “Puss In Boots” voiceover and Mangold said “Hey, be a part of our movie”? Seems like a wasted opportunity.

Well, I don’t know how it “works.” Haha

But perhaps Mads thought the rift would take you anywhere. It didn’t matter where the rift was, but it would take them to where he calculated. Maybe?

I thought the way they explained it was one half of the dial was for the date and the other half then presented coordinates, but maybe I'm following it wrong.

this is always how I interpreted it, like now that we got these dumb Americans here let’s make them eat the grossest stuff possible.

if you have a chance they just did an Unspooled episode about ToD where they talk a lot about this.

Haven't seen this yet but rooting for and being glad a movie failed is just absolute weirdo behavior unless it's like some type of super racist and problematic movie or something.

I just read this movie is going to make less money than Tom Cruise’s The Mummy. Idk what to do with this info just thought it was wild/interesting
