Wow, this game looks so much better on the PS5 / SX as expected. The Switch's screen is definitely a winner when it comes to blacks for sure. I wish the Steam Deck had a display like the Switch's.

It is just a shame about the texture downgrades on the Switch. I would have through the Switch would have no problems here even with its age?

 

Switch has half as much RAM as the base PS4 so that downgrade makes sense haha

If you wanna play handheld then the Switch version is great

 

Players Log: finished the Vampire Survivors update. Took about an hour or two for all the achievements. The new map is fun.

 

I ended up dropping Vampire Survivors after a dozen or so hours, might need to go back to it. Just don't think there is enough variety in runs, or that the final 5-10 minutes are super enjoyable but maybe I need to crank up the curses or something.

 

Between Returnal Vampire Survivors I am set for life as far as replay ability.


If you are truly finding it easy, put on inverse mode and there are plenty of items that will make MUCH more difficult.

 

I’m blessed with eyes that can’t tell a huge difference between different ports and texture and frame rates and all that. My brother has horrible eyesight and that kind of thing makes a huge difference on if he can even play a game or not. I bought him dragons dogma for switch and he was like yeah it’s too muddy I can’t see anything

 

You both are tempting me to get an OLED Switch as I would really like to play Persona 5 at my desk, the Zelda's and the latest Super Smash Bros.

 

you know exactly what to do. Since you have budgeted for a Steam Deck anyway, make sure you get a Satifsfye grip for it ;)

 

Honestly, I'd love a 3rd Banjo-Kazooie. I absolutely hated Nuts n Bolts and the whole art style. What Nintendo did for Super Smash Bros was much more inline with the franchise.

I'd prefer if Nintendo bought Rare back.

Move over, Game Pass. Returnal is the best deal in gaming.

 

It's not the first time Kirkhope has said this, and I can kind of see why. Unless you're a Mario, platformers cater to a relatively niche audience nowadays.

That's not saying it can't be profitable, but I don't think it would be a tentpole product. It's probably better left to spiritual successors like Yooka-Laylee and A Hat In Time.

 

Once I’m done with final fantasy 16 it’s returnal time


I’m currently 70% done with the story after 32 hours played in FF16 so I’m coming up on the last push. So far it’s not quite my game of the year (octopath 2 heads whattup) but it’s not far off and an easy 9-9.5 depending on how this all wraps up

 

NEED THIS

 

They absolutely could do it and be successful. There's a market for sure, but they actually have to listen to it and not make a Nuts and Bolts which completely ignored what the fans wanted.

Doom Eternal is great so far. I was preferring 2016 at first, but this is growing on me. I’m surprised how much more platforming there is. On mission six now and I like how the codex explains more of the story.

 

How he keeps getting more unhinged everyday is just beyond my understanding at this point
