Been listening to the new Young Thug constantly since it dropped, agreed with those who said it doesn’t touch his peak around 2015 mostly but “Sake of my Kids” (just got added) is def from that era and it’s one of his best instantly for me

 

YES this is the Thug I wanted. whyyyy doesn't he rap like this anymore?

 

Honestly I think about it a lot and I have theories but I can’t figure it out haha, he was way more experimental/energetic and creative back then, I do like So Much Fun overall but Slime Language/Punk just felt like a big drop off, although they all have at least some stuff I like. Even going back to Young Martha the other day after this album I forgot how next level his flows and voices were, hope we get to hear more of that from him

 

I finally listened to the new Gunna today and I (very surprisingly) think I might like it more than the new Thug

 

I heard a song from Kota the Friend today (new one with Samm Henshaw) and I liked it. I know nothing about him, what should I know/listen to?

 

Might as well listen to the current album “To See A Sunset”. I also liked “Foto” and “To Kill A Sunrise”.

 

Fair warning: he sometimes says some 90s rap style wild shit in sandwiched in between the feel good lyrics lol

 

Looks like a new album out tomorrow also, maybe I just dive into that one and work backwards as far as I care to if I'm into it

 

new Uzi songs sound like he studied WLR pretty hard

they do sound good tho

 

Maybe but his Statik albums are better than his others

well, I listened to the first few songs on The Pink Tape and they were pretty awful

so I’m not sure it’s worth returning to but I’m not hearing good things

 

Or it was, wonder why it’s not showing up for me

 

the sequencing (and extra couple tracks) on the "Metro Version" of the new Thug album makes me like it WAY more

 

sequencing, yeah but the new songs didn’t do all that much for me

Juice WRLD feature was cool tho

 

I cooled off on it a bit but I still really like it

Abacadabra is the only one I never go back to

 

Hyped to listen to new Uzi and tobi lou albums today

Yeah I like the new sequencing a lot more. Love the album as a whole and can’t stop listening to it. Still doesn’t touch his music from BTG and before though.
