  5. I wasn't hating being in theater. I enjoyed trying to find gems of decent moments. I enjoyed letting the film critic in me run rampant. I enjoyed the moments of the movie that reminded me of College Humor's Badman skits.

I don't know why this idea should seem weird to you. People talk about movies all the time that are so bad, they're good. Movies that are laughably bad.

I love MST3K. Just throws me off that someone would pay like $10+ to see a highly anticipated movie and look forward to/take pleasure in hating it. Like, would have been disappointed if it surprised you in a good way? Maybe I'm just weird, idk.

I watched ASM this morning, enjoyed that a bit but I don't think it's a good movie overall and would rate BvS miles better.

To be clear, this movie wasn't in that so bad it's good. Just disappointing.

  10. But I didn't want to pay money to see it. I saw the movie against my will just because I wanted to spend time with my friends. No matter what, there wasn't going to be a lens through which I could watch this movie and conclude that it is good cinema or good storytelling. So my way of enjoying it was to enjoy finding flaws.

  11. Ya know, rather than skulking and just being pissy that I was even there wasting my $12.33

  12. Right, but that's not even my point. It just seems strange to me that someone would look forward to disliking something. I don't know if I'll ever understand that mindset, but if that's just me, I'll stop haha. Just curious.

  13. Ohhhhhhh I see what you're saying. As in, that I went into the movie with the predetermination to dislike it? I wouldn't say that was the case. But it literally only took me a few minutes to start hating the movie, haha. Even the person next to me, before the opening credits were through, leaned over and said, "It is too early for me to walk out?" So no, I wasn't trying to hate it. I was even hoping that my expectations were so low that I'd end up liking it a lot.

Man I saw this two days ago, and I can barely remember any of it. I really hope they take ZS off JL.

That's one of the things I noticed when watching this and id be curious to go back and see if it's there in his other works, but Snyder seems to have no idea how to construct a scene. Michael Bay can even do it better, for goodness sake.

  16. Yeah.

Also, at the beginning of the movie, Bruce is calling Jack to tell him to evacuate the building immediately.

By the time Bruce calls, you can already see the attacks happening from Jack's window. He and everyone in the office can obviously see.

I just found it funny Bruce had to call for everyone to freak out when it was common sense to get out.

  17. That was one of my complaints too! I noticed that and almost immediately the film lost all credibility

  18. It won't happen but I agree.

  19. Is it though? I think we've historically seen that a lot of people do stay in buildings when things are going on outside, thinking it's the save place to be. It's terrible, but I mean, it's also something that happens in real life. Rushing out to the streets when things are happening outside is not always the first reaction. The pretty over the top destruction imagery made me think of too many times I've seen that same stuff on TV and thought "why didn't they get out"?

A fair amount of people react to terrifying situations by just freezing up entirely.

Given the steep drop in box office in week two I wouldn't be shocked if they took Snyder off JL. I don't expect it, but Batman and Superman should be doing a lot better than this. It's doing well, but WB wants bigger. Similar to TASM2. Did $700 million, but Spider-Man is a character a studio leans on to do higher than that.

That said generally I'm not usually interested in box office discussion. It does have implications on the creative future of the DC cinematic universe in this case, though.

  22. This could be the reasoning behind it, but if I remember right, Jack was almost fully unaware of the attacks outside until Bruce called as was everyone in that office.

He wasn't really alarmed and I don't recall any of the staff being alarmed. Had there been no windows, there'd be no problem with that scene.

Very small complaint though. I ended up thinking the movie was far better than what the critics are saying. But it is very flawed and convoluted.

Not that strange to enjoy watching movies you don't like and laughing at it. I didn't feel that way ab
