I can't get into Glassjaw. I barely listen to the first album and I really like the first half of Worship & Tribute, but that's it. My taste indicates that I should love them but they never clicked with me.

 

Same probably.

 

I don't think they're for everyone haha

 

I'm at 159, which is way behind what I did last year. I don't try to hit a specific number either, just check out as much as I can because there's so much music I've discovered by doing that that I never would've known about otherwise.

eh its just the vocals and even those are far more raw than anything stephen jenkins has sung but 3eb is way poppier and more traditional in their song structures and production choices even if they operate in the same genre sometimes

 

I'd say the vocals, especially with a band like this, are a pretty big element of their sound. that said I agree with the comparison

 

Glassjaw are one of those bands I love but can totally understand people not liking. Daryl's vocals especially.

 

Thrice albums I used to love have not held up over the years

 

I'm a big fan of listening to lots of new releases, mainly because I can do it while I work. I don't think I would have been able to find the time to do it when I was in college (or now, if I had to do it all on my own time) without it feeling like a chore.

That being said, it's been really cool to listen to and latch onto albums in different genres that I never would have bothered to check out otherwise, so I'd 100% recommend it.

 

So far this year I've listened to 105 albums released in 2016 as well as 55 albums that were released before 2016. It's the most music I've ever discovered in one year and it's been really fun.

 

I should really start counting next year how many I listen to.

 

Modern Baseball could go up on stage and just moan into the microphone for 20 minutes and I would still enjoy it more than Joyce Manor

 

Both bands could stand in silence and I would enjoy it more than The Wonder Years

 

That's weird cause The Wonder Years are leaps and bounds better than both.

Also, I've soured on TWY a lot but I think I still enjoy them more than moaning haha

I'd also say it's the only good thing he's ever done.

 

I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning is the only Conor Oberst album I like, but it's a great one.
