Oh man, Cruel Jaws is an absolute blast. Really hoping that's one of them.

 

Same. New hint is that both movies have theme songs, but we know one of them is a Jaws ripoff. So my new guess is Cruel jaws and Gojira. Could also be Deep Blue Sea, but Cruel jaws would be more fun.

 

Watching The Outwaters, these characters and music are pretty obnoxious.

 

Yeah The Outwaters did not really work for me at all. That last part seemed interminable. I commend them for taking a big swing, but it wasn't very effective.

 

One of The Last Drive-In movies has been revealed to be Sharknado

 

It may end up working for you. I just think they didn't pull off the execution well enough. I'll have to add these to my summer horror list

 

Watched the Japanese Cube remake last night. Thought it was fine, cool set design and score, definitely not as bad as Letterboxd seems to think, but I also don't have that much reverence for the original

Finally have a weekend with nothing but a tattoo appointment on Sunday, so aside from TLDI tonight, I'm gonna try to get to Srigala, Infinity Pool, The Invisible Man, and some combination of F13 5-7

 

Starting Gourley and Rust from the very beginning so I've got F13 on the brain.

Stoked for TLDI tonight. Fiancee and I have been doing a Twin Peaks run so we are gonna do The Missing Pieces (we watched the original 2 seasons and the movie up til now) and then continue on with The Return. Pretty relevant considering some of Lynch's stuff is disturbing and scary as fuck.

Didn't know Maika Monroe was gonna be in God is a Bullet, a new movie out this week, until I saw the trailer a couple days ago, either before The Blackening or Past Lives (which isn't horror but is very good, y'all should watch). I don't know if it'll be any good, but I've liked everything I've seen her in so far (It Follows, Watcher, and The Guest).

Speaking of whom, since she's been on my mind, I finally watched Tau, and obviously she's really good in it. Very similar to Ex Machina, which was kind of a surprise. I knew it was some sort of sci-fi horror film but all I could really glean from the screenshots on imdb is that she constantly gets tied up hah... Didn't expect to see Gary Oldman in the credits as the AI voice, though, eugh. That certainly puts a damper on my appreciation of the film, but I'd still recommend it to anyone in here.
